@ThurstonWhore, that pencil skirt is lovely, and NOT in my local Oasis! I could try on another skirt for size and order online I suppose. I like to touch and try on first though :o

I think it's new season stock so maybe it hasn't rolled out to all the shops yet.
    :)

I looooove my new boots, bring on the crisp autumn weather! :D

I've decided to take tomrrow off studying and buy myself some interview clothes. I'm just assuming I'll get some interviews next year for a course I really want, so I may as well have a wardrobe at the ready! That Oasis pencil skirt above could be perfect...

The shops have seriously redeemed themselves after a summer of meh. I've been dreading trying to find work clothes but I saw a lot of lovely things in the shops today.

Such a pity I wasn't in a shopping mood because I came home empty handed.

 How the mighty have fallen. Does this help? Or perhaps this collection.
Come back to us Bobblehead, we need you!

I don't like shopping. :D I hate actually walking around shops. We have a guy in doing some painting and he was shocked that I was back so quickly.

And I'm not a Louboutin girl either. :p

Don't worry though, I still like clothes.

Hi, I got a pair of shoes in the Next summer sale. It's been over a month now but I've only worn it about 8-10 times and both the soles have holes. Is there any chance I'd get a refund or exchange? Shoes from Pennyes have fared much better. :(

Bring them back to the store you got them and see what they can do for you. Should be fine if you don't have the receipt, but if you paid by card, try and find the transaction and get the bank to print you a statement. But, if the shop deem them as faulty, proof of purchase shouldn't be a problem.

Anyone taking up that boards Stellar offer? I haven't gotten the mag in a long while having being over here, but when I did I really liked it, plus how the clothes they advertised were for all price ranges, not like a lot of the UK mags...

:( Valid in Rep of ireland only, aw!!! Would have been a pay day treat for me!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,818 ✭✭✭Gauge

Aw LadyMayBelle that sucks, is there anyone in Ireland you could have it delivered to that would forward it on to you?

Just bought it there, forgot I had €7.50 credit so worked out at €5.00 for the year which was a great bargain. Though magazines tend to inspire me into buying more clothes so it will probably cost me more in the long run!

Anyone else here going to the What Course expo in the RDS tomorrow? I'm going to see about fashion related courses and there is going to be a stylist giving a talk on tips to get into the industry.

Anyone here shopped at Hollister? I did for the first time and love their stuff. What do you all think?

Is it just me, or are those threads that descend into, "Leggings are so hideous, lol @ people wearing tracksuits outside of the gym" etc., totally grating? I'm not sure if this is the appropriate place to post this, and maybe I'm completely alone but I really hate seeing it in the forum. I dunno, the bitchy undertones just get me.

Picked up that pencil skirt in Oasis, shazam :-)

    Thanks for the pointers, all!

Those threads are just boring if nothing else. It's always the same things that crop up time and again.

I like the Duchess of Cambridge thread where we all critiqued her outfits. I think more threads like this would be more interesting/fun than just slating entire trends.

Went shopping for the first time in aaaaaaages (I mean months and months) yesterday. Not liking the 70's vibe going on. I find most of the colours don't suit me. Also, I'd just feel like I was dressing up in my mother's clothes. :(

Tried on a really nice red dress from Penneys yesterday. Lovely apart from the weird graduated hemline. Made my arse look huge.

    end rant.

Completely agree with you Thurston and Novella.

I liked the Kate Middleton thread where we gave our opinions without being insulting.
Threads like Novella mentioned are very bitchy and I do think inappropriate in this forum. F&A is such a friendly forum in general it seems a shame to have threads like that.

Report the posts in those threads. The mods miss things sometimes. Up to us all to help out and keep the forum the way the majority want it.

Don't! I barely even notice the user name of whoever reported it when it tells me a post has been reported.

Yeah. I think critiquing is totally fine. It's just often I feel that these threads are plain old mean. I dunno, maybe I'm a total softie but I hate the thought that someone could be reading and suddenly be made feel really self conscious about something they have chosen to wear.

Imo, the threads seem more AH appropriate because post after post of simply slating people doesn't sit well in the forum. Well, I think anyway!
    I always feel like a tell-tale when I report a post :o:p

Same. I don't really mind when it's obvious trolling or whatever, but this has been something so subtle but yet really niggling at me so I didn't wanna report posts 'cause I wasn't sure if it was just me.

Really like that T-shirt Asphyxia, it'a lovely!

I hate that I go shopping, see maybe a style of dress that is beautiful for my figure and it's in A. Yellow or B. Orange..

Do they not know these colours don't suit me? :D

I must be allergic to some of my eye make up. I keep getting really sore, red eyes. No idea what it could be though. :(

Hey guys! I need a quick opinion! Going to a 50s dance thing in a couple of weeks and really want a rockabilly swing style dress. Love this one! But I'm a little worried the print is a bit busy. Any thoughts? I've never worn anything like it before
