i d like to try sailing

for the past while i ve wanted to try sailing, not to get mad into it or anything, just like trying new things and have this urge to try sailing, feel the wind move you,any ideas on were i could go to try this?
i live in south dublin not to far from blessington etc

The Sailing Club is closed for the winter, but there may be some activity at Avon Ri.

Have a look at www.sailingwest.ie/ who run courses in Dun Laoghaire through out the year and then once you know the basics, http://www.sailingindublin.ie/ have a number of boats where you can crew when it suits you (for a very reasonable price and great social side).

Arklow sailing club is not too far from you. they do evening and weekend keelboat (squib) cousres in the summer (6 or 8 class courses) and don't charge a fortune for them (around €150 i think) www.arklowsc.com

Give Paul a ring in Avon ri there are a cpuple of keel boats there and they are a great fast boat to sail on its great craic there is also sail orienteering on there must Sundays aswell
