Must win and win well, Wolves will come and try and make it difficult for us. Be great to see Modric getting 20 mins at the end. Can only see a good spurs win 4-1(as we always seem to leak one), though in saying that its a potential banana skin and I f88kin hate games we are expected to win easy until they are over and its about 9-1 to the spurs:D

Heading over on sat morn, first game since Sep due to new baby at home. Really looking forward to getting back to the Lane.

    Anyone else heading over?

Good stuff Mark, hope they put on a performance for you. Have a sneaky feeling robbie might start with JD this weekend.

I hope Robbie starts, he will be raring to go after warming the bench for a couple of games, not going to this one Mullo, Hull in jan is my next game :)

Must win alright. Or else we will lose all momentum.

Had ticket and booked flights Mark.
But I'm gonna have to give it a miss, skint
Doing Fulham away on the 26th Dec anyway so I suppose it's not too bad.

Enjoy the game and congrats on the new arrival.

Absolutely. Whatever about not collecting the points against Everton when we should, there are no excuses for not winning this game. I don't care how we win (though naturally would prefer a bucket of goals) as long as we win as our rivals have very big matches this weekend and it would give us a chance to pull ahead.

Thanks Shane, thats a pity. Sure if you have the flights and tickets, just go and buy a load of those bullseye baggies 2 for 1 you like on the plane and you'll be sorted for the day..:D

Hopefully see you in the new year at some stage.

i would say 4-1 to spurs also

modric to come on in 75th minute to huge applause

Yep looking at the fixture list we will actually be favourites to win in each of our last 5 games of 2009! We won't ofcourse but even if we won 3, drew 2 we would be clear in at least 4th going into 2010. And probably 3rd.

So all to play for, and no excuses that we are not good enough - all 5 games we are the favourites to win on paper!

Starting with Wolves - Yes I agree, we HAVE to win this one. To maintain the confidence after we performed well, but dropped points in the last 2 games.

Wolves are struggling and have a terrible away record. We have been superb at home, scoring goals for fun.

I take us to get back to winning ways - 3-1.

a 3-0 win will suffice to mark my 30th birthday on saturday.

    come on you spurs

Wolves will come to WHL with a 'park the bus' game plan.

I think we'll go all out for an early goal to open them up.

I just hope that, if we do knock in a couple of goals, the players keep going for more and not relax.

    5-1

    Think he will KingdomYid.

Currently the case to maintain Crouch is some good knock-downs from long high crosses. In which case we would just as well playing Michael Dawson upfront.

He has 2 goals in 15 PL appearances. Whilst Defoe made all the headlines for his late penalty miss, if Crouch had put away 2 easy 1 on 1s the game would have been all over way before then.

But 'Crouchie' still seems to get away with it with the media and fans - really is beyond me!

I would go with Keane as you say for this one. But still think we need top quality alongside Defoe if we want to properly compete.

    id go for

    gomes

    corluka daws bass ekotto

    lennon pal hudd kranjcar

    defoe keane

modric to come on after 65 mins . if palacious is not fit we should be able to get away with hudd and jenas. we are lucky we are at home to wolves cos we cant do without palacious for any other kind of game

Yep, that team basically picks itself - especially with no Ledley or Woodgate. Would be great to see Luca come on as sub.

There's talk of a swap with Liverpool between Pav and Babbel. Babbel's been getting dogs abuse, but when I see him he looks really fast and tricky and was obviously highly rated to go for £13m odd from Ajax. So i would go with that deal.

I'm going to say 3-1 put should be 6 or 7.

JD will get one and robbie will get two to give us all a major debate for the next game.

harry has just said that modric will be involved tomorrow. too early to start him though

    3-1 please... :)

Well, that's the goal that we were all predicting for Wolves out of the way. Now down to the serious business....... I hope

True story. Was a case of the bigger, stronger player being penalised for being bigger and stronger.

Anyone watching Yesman sop? It's being a bit sh*t...

    Linesman is a tool.

Assou ekotto and Keane looking lively a few last ditch takles have stopped us scoring hopefully we'll be able to capitalise soon as they tire Lennon being double teamed again soft free kick and soft defending from the free kick Dawson didn't even jump:( Come On You Spurs

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,778 ✭✭✭✭Kold

We nick one or two early and the floodgates will open. Really unlucky to concede the goal, was a load of sh*t really, never a free. Wolves are getting all the decisions so far.

I was delighted to see that guy get booked for diving :D

    keane off???

i think defoe has been th poorer of the 2

    modric in the middle:D

    modric in the middle:D
looks like it's going to be one of those days.:o We need to score NOW.

Lads, I think top 4 is out of the question for sure. What's the point of beating Wigan 9-1 and then losing (and failing to score against an even worse team-Wolves).

    Embarrassed Spurs fan.....

    Orange pilled.

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 23,352 Mod ✭✭✭✭Kiith

Its typical spurs. With City dropping points, and Villa with a good chance of losing points tonight, we needed to come out and win. But no. We go out half assed, assuming we'll beat a clearly inferior team, and play ****.

I dont care if the ref was bad, i dont care if Wolves were good. We should win this match. No one to blame but ourselves.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,672 ✭✭✭keane=cock

thats is one of the worst games i have seen spurs play in recent times.

    poor passing,
poor decision makig in the passing.
    no killer instinct
lennon was poor, defoe was poor, gio got one touch when he came on, crouch got penalised every time he jumped!
not fully sold on basong. corluka gave the ball away qute regular as did huddlestone.

    really disappointed today.

only saving face was that city drew. i really hope this is our slump and its over now.
wed? need to pick it up

Ha-ha! (Wolves fan here) don't moan cos you couldn't finish. Wolves were never going to be too expansive were they? Mick has leant that lesson.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 140 ✭✭hotspur147

we are offically in our mid season slump.why cant we beat the sides that have been promoted the previous season?hull,birmingham,sunderland....the list goes on and now these to$$ers.
why play with 4 at the back when wolves have one up front and we are chasing the game?
why play into their hands by bringing on crouch?keane was doing ok,well better than defoe anyway.the high ball into crouch was so predictable and the wolves defenders are used to that type of game.
did gio get a touch when he came on?
its all very well having most of the possesion and pressuring the opposition for 90 mins but if you cant score against the likes of stoke and wolves at home than we should forget about quailifing for the cl or maybe even the uefa cup.
levy says that there will be no major signings in jan.i think this result shows that we are still short one or two quaility players.

disaster, here we go again, no doubt we'l finish seventh! Just goes to show how important closing out last week would have been. Disapointing.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 150 ✭✭whitey21

One of our worst games for sure!!!

Defoe was VERY poor! Typical Defoe perfomance in a game like this...not involved at all! Contributed nothgun!!!
Defoe should have got Subbed, Not Keane!!
Huddlestone very easy goin and got caught a few times!
Crouch comes on...typical long ball crap!
Typical Dawson defending from a cross for the goal!
The team had no patience whatsoever to try break down wolves. No point in tryin to crosses into defoe and keane...just be patient! Spurs dont have any patience...its all a bit gung-ho
Our counter attacking is brutal, gomes tries to push it out, but we just hang onto in our own half and wait for crouchy to get up the pitch by which time half of wolves is behind the ball!!
    Top 4??? No chance!
Think harry needs to get his head out of his arse, stop bein so loyal to players and give our russian comrade striker a few games....think it would of suited him today

    Very angry/upset/annoyed spurs fan

i still think we will finish higher than 7th.

we dont become a bad team over the last couple of games wel second half of everton n today.

we just need to get our finger out. i just hope the players are nt believing they just have to show up to win games. big test of character against city now with them dropping points to beat th band.

    come on you spurs

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,395 ✭✭✭Hatch99

    Disgusted.
I said it before this season and no doubt this wont be the last time i will say it, Harry and his team of experts just dont have the clout or tactical knowledge to make a change in order to tactically change our approach to such games. Stoke was the other that comes to mind.

Not a hope of getting top 4 this season lads. I hope im wrong but its my opinion at this stage of the season. If City beat us on Wed, and we dont beat blackburn next week, we will be mid table.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,932 ✭✭✭SuprSi

Without knee-jerking, I agree with most of the comments here. Rubbish performance, and Wolves deserved their point. They played football that complimented their players, got the early goal, and then defended it. Stoke did the same thing. We don't seem to have it in us to break through stubborn, defence-driven teams, and until we do, we will not break into the top 4. We have now lost 6 points at home to teams that are inferior in terms of talent. Not acceptable.

The worst thing is that teams seem to know how to get us at home too. This result doesn't just bode badly for our push for 4th, but it means that loads of teams will play the exact same way in WHL.

I'm sickened by that result, absolutely sickened.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 313 ✭✭StillRickyVilla

They have run out of excuses now, disgraceful stuff. What looked like a little blip has potentially turned into the end of our challenge. And a downward spiral to upper mid-table.

If they lose to Man City that'll basically be the end of what has been a really exciting season for me following Spurs challenge for 4th.

The Man City game now is make or break for me. Win it, and i'm willing to give them back my emotion and support again. Lose it, and we can forget about it for another season.

We haven't done anything in the FA Cup in many years. As soon as we draw a big team (probably Man U again in the next round) we're gone.

Season over. another false dawn. :(
