Anyone else want to put your hand into the game and slap these guys?Running around like RunRunner and jumping around like hares!! Think they are young teenages with too much sugar in their system.

Seriously.....am finding them very hard and annoying to deal with.

rangers aren't too bad compared to the abomination that is the 1887s. serious flaw in the game. and it's only gonna get worse as people level up.

1887's are severly unbalanced. I don't want to see them removed but their range should at least be cut in half, or else the player's speed and movement restricted. The 1887's outgun anything out to medium range, making smgs totally redundant. As someone pointed out on IW's forum "how did guns reach their peak 120 years ago and fall off so much since then?"

Is it just me, or does anyone else tend to search for one of these guys during a match who got you with a really cheap shot and get payback as much as you can in hilarious and explosive ways??

Or am I just too preoccupied with revenge?:D

I only use a tactical knife, so these double shotgun lads cause all sorts of problems for me. I've learned to stay away.

In the same way that MW and WAW had me instinctively running away from my kills (in case of martyrdom) I've modified my behaviour in MW2 to a style of play that keeps my engagements (where possible) as far out as possible. At this stage I just assume everyone is using akimbo 1887s.

Exactly. It's mental that people complain so much, I've seen plenty of double shotgun lads who get riddled for an entire game. People are getting frustrated by the instantaneous fashion with which a shotgun can kill you if close enough, but if you keep your wits about about you there's ways of dealing with every weapon setup. Double shotguns seem to be the new Juggernaut.

The complaints are justified. Juggernaut was offset by stopping power but there's nothing to counter these. Maps like Favela where you're nearly always close to medium engagements means that the 1887s have a massive advantage. And that's what seems to piss most people off, accuracy and power upto medium range destroys every other gun.

I play on Hardcore TD exclusively, at lv 54 now and I've seen 2, maybe 3 guys using this set-up. It's just not as popular. You can drop a guy from halfway across the map with an ACR; why would you want run about like a lunatic when one bullet will kill you? Assault Rifles are by far the most popular, followed by sniper rifles, depending on the map. Very few people using 'The Witch' either.

Guys, if you want a break from the gimmicks, try Hardcore.

Right, but that's Favela. Wasteland, Afghan, Quarry, Scrapyard, Estate(assuming you don't just stay in the house) are among many maps where Shotgunners can be destroyed. Besides, everyone can have a shotgun as a secondary weapon, use it. The odds of coming across lads using double shotguns seems to be quite slim for me, and the times that there have been two on a team I could count on one hand. They're statistically still in a minority.

i've only ever seen one guy rockin the double shotguns in hardcore he got mauled he couldn't believe it in lobby after the game said we were all hacking.

Hardcore is a great skill leveller.

Its most of the time snipers that carry the Ranger or 1887,really annoying:mad:.

I had seen it a few times since I started playing (Bought it 3 days after launch) Though it was a novelty setup.

But in the last week have seen a jump in the number of players using this setup, and mostly they are guys wearing ghillie suits. I suppose it is a good setup in a more casual setting, ie. normal TDM, as here you 'should' find new and/or inexperienced players who are slower to respond to a charging shotgun maniac or who leave themselves more open to being snook up on....(ie. me!)

Played a game of High Rise Domination yesterday with 3-4 double shotgun dudes on the opposing team (it was at least 3,maybe 4) When 2-3 of them run around together its hard to survive against them. They did well in a few instances but overall my team had the map covered and were able to take them down at a distance.................. 3 converging streams of assault rifle fire will hit you even if you are a quick ninja fcuk!

I'm just happy the javelin glitch seems to have been fixed - game is playable again. I haven't seen so many stabby joe's lately either for whatever reason. I have seen more shotgun guys lately but i find an ACR launched grenade tends to sort that out fairly sharpish. That or a thermal scope WA2000 double tap from the other side of the map

Edit: what is the deal thou changing to secondary weapons when you ahve shotgun......it takes AGESSSSSS

Most of the time I play hardcore they have cold blooded and ninja so there invisible. I find moving around to the normal camping sorts them.

I use akimbo rangers. They're not as ridiculous as the model 1887s but they're still strong. There's no point complainin, it only proves that those guys are owning you online.

Played a few games the other night were we have 3-4 guys with all 1887's and they were destroying people to the point one guy get a tactical nuke from his kills in the game all they were doing was running around bang and your dead .

These guns are way overpowered over at range they were killing people too easy compared to other guns.

they still involve some skill to play with, no silencer, just big red dots on the map...

then you get the case when you unload two rangers ammo into some douchebag with last stand that just owns you cause you're out of ammo.

Funny yet frustrating when it happens, but heh, my fault for using rangers, lol.

Yeah sure they are overpowered but there are ways to get around it. Guys with 1887's normally do a route around the map so just stay put until you can ambush them. Stop coming on boards and moaning about it, adapt, improve and eventually you will have them too.

Lol @ saying Hardcore is more skilled. Full of camper fags with UAV and heartbeat jammers waiting behind stuff for other players to hopefully run past. I've played a ton of it and so many games never reach near the max kill count.

It's genuinely horrendous.
