Good start for Shane today, -4 through 15.

Yeah a great start for Lowry and the backlash from last week and the hurt of missing the cut is been mended. -5 through 17 now. Lets hope for some metal and consistency over the few days. Its a strong field and he will need to be at his best.

Thanks we try hard every week to make sure he looks fabulous on the course:p

Great start, also good to see Robert Karlsson up there, only because I was on the same flight as him on Monday :D He is huge!

Scoring seems to be low today, but still a great round by shane - I only saw a little of his round, but he seemed to be hitting the ball really nicely.

Placing nicely today, dropped 18 places before teeing off due to good play all around but 3 under now through 8 and made up most of the ground lost...

Picked up two shots after play resumed and finished 9 under. Currently in a tie for 14th, 3 shots behind the leaders.

Great to see him playing so well after the disappointment of the last two weeks.

Crazy start today but great recovery to be -2 for front 9
    Strong enough leaderboard

Bit of a roller coaster alright but the back 9 seems to be the scoring 9 today so fingers crossed

Will prob finish up Top 15 but this should hopefully guarantee his top 20 status in the RTD and automatic qualification for Hoylake.

T10 for him in the end, great result in a strong field.

T-11TH now, still not quite finished but nearly there! Yeah excellent result and unlike Harrington Lowry is able to mix it on the birdie courses which is a good sign that eventually America will suit him.

A good run at the majors this year will hopefully get him into the all important Top 50.

Looking at the current position, I think Lowry will stay in 19th position in the RTD. Cabrera-bello will pass him thanks go his storming finish, but Shane should pick up enough money to move past George Coetzee, who missed the cut.

Actually, as it would be a 3 way tie for 2nd, C-B would need to win in order to get into the top 20 in the RTD. He will presumably get one of the 3 slots on offer this week in any event.

There wasnt 3 slots on offer in this weeks event in Europe just on pga tour.

C-B sneaked ahead of Levy for 20th spot in race to Dunai so as it turned out 3 did book their places, himself, Lowry and Larrazabal.

They were the only non exempt in top 20 of race to Dubai. There was upto 5 placeson offer.

Lowry off to flyer today: -5 after 7.

Lowry off to flyer today: -5 after 7.

Was thinking last night that for Shane to really push on, this was the event to do it. He is very comfortable playing links golf and also in these conditions. A top 5 this week would get him ever closer to the ultimate goal of Top 50 in the OWGR.

Hope he contends over the weekend.

In a big bunch on -2, tied 8th. He's done well. This course should suit him, so let's hope he keeps his head and progresses. Nice to have good form going in to the Open.

Great round yesterday. Hope he keeps the bogies off the card today and pushes on. Great to have this form coming up to the Open, and nice to see the tricolour near the top of the leaderboard. C'mon Shane!

Going well again today too,Sky not giving him much coverage though.
Home cooking seems to have suited him since the tour has got back near these shores, definitely put on a stone or 2 since Wentworth.

Nice 66 today. Currently in a four way tie for 4th and set to pick up just over €148k. Could be more if Warren fails to cover the last two holes in par or better.

Looks like a cheque for €148K for tied 4th.

Nice birdie by Warren on the 17th to more or less clinch 3rd place. Still a great result for Shane.
