Might be better taking next week off but its big bucks.

I wouldnt recommend a week off in Offaly, there isnt much to do there, and its cold and wet and windy at this time of year.
He's a young man, he doesnt need a week off, he needs to push on, and get a tee off time for Augusta in a few months. Looking forward to seeing him tackle Amen corner.

27 holes tomorrow in 30c and high humdity will be a test.
Thunderstorms forecast everyday so play could be fragmented.

This tournament is haunted with weather. 3 rounds last year, looks like the same this year.

Down to 22 in race to Dubai. Only about 32k between 18th and 23rd position. Hopefully a decent week in Dubai will get him back to top 20.

Down to 60th in world rankings.

Is there a significance to top 20 in r2d?

The world top 50 is of course massively important.

I think the top 20 automatically qualify for one or more of the majors.

Very disappointing end to his season :(

    More details here http://www.breakingnews.ie/sport/golf/illness-ends-shane-lowry-hopes-in-dubai-575117.html

There was an article in the Irish Independent saying that he might turn up on the first tee and hit a drive so that he would be guaranteed last place money and get over €1m in earnings for the season, but he looks as if he never made it to the first tee.

Sounds like the only sensible thing to do if he was that ill and probably better from a world rankings perspective as well. Hopefully, he'll have a speedy recovery and hit the ground running at the start of next year.

gutted for him, was hoping he would have had a great tournament this weekend.

    ahh well, next year!!

His immune system is weak. Fitness levels are down. He'll have to wait a while now to make his next tenner. His recovery would take a while.

Yeah, but the new one will begin. It won't be long coming in again.

The first half decent tournament is the Volvo on January 10th in South Africa. He'll have plenty of time to recover, really gutted for him, a strong finish this week would surely have put him in the top 50 world rankings.

As an aside I notice there are 6 tournaments being played in South Africa between Dec 6th & Feb 28th on the 2013 European tour schedule.

Shame, he was over in Dubai acclimatising it looks like he might have a touch of sun stroke. He is very sick as he would have got €60,000 if he stood on the first tee. I have backed him with Betfair does anyone know if I will get my money back?

Not sure on the Betfair question. However, would you consider simply dressing up as the man himself, presenting yourself for action in Dubai and simply walking away with the EUR60,000??!!! Should easily cover your bet.

Unfortunately I wouldnt make the weight, also they might suss me out when I tee off with a hurl. Although in all seriousness sunstroke can be dangerous, so I wish him the best.

    Edit bets refunded.
