I see it's also on offer at Zavvi for £17.95 + delivery
    http://www.zavvi.com/dvd/the-world-at-war-11-dvd-box-set/79332.html

Apologies if this has been posted already, did a search, couldn't find it.
This is top quality - probably the definitive World War 2 documentary. Looks like a steal at this price. Hopefully I might get around to watching it from start to finish by next Christmas!

    From sendit.com ...

The World at War was first broadcast 31st October 1973, when memories of the Second World War were still clear in people's minds and the war's veterans numerous. This unique television series was able to assemble these recollections, together with archive footage into one of the most powerful and successful historical documentaries ever seen. The voices of those that fought, worked or watched during the Second World War gave each episode a vivid sense of what it was like to be there and was the hallmark of the series.
Over 30 years on, the series is still widely acknowledged to be the definitive history of the Second World War - the best of its kind.

    This 35 1/2 hour 11 disc box set contains;
    - Original 26 Episodes.
    - 8 Special Presentations.
    - 3 hour 30th Anniversary Disc containing previously unseen interviews and retrospective interviews with the original production team.

This is a documentary, and I don't think its wrong to say that if you are going to watch one documentary in your life, that this is probably the one it should be. At this price, its a steal. Bought it as a christmas present last year for over 100.

How much is delivery to Ireland?

Do Zavvi (or The Hut/Asda/Sendit) accept a Laser?

I remember this when it came out first in the 70s. As someone else said, if you only buy one documentary in your life this should be it.

    Thanks OP!

Thanks, I got some of these from the library being put off by the €120 price tag last year. This is a steal, the definitive documentary on WWII.

Whoops I didn't realise that it is Sendit that is selling it, not Zavvi. I believe Zavvi charge something like 99p for delivery to Ireland.

How long would delivery take? Just wondering if it would be too late to order now.

Had mine despatched last Monday (Dec 7th) and still no sign of it as of yet. My account with them says no orders outstanding. I'll give it the 10 days they say to allow for before contacting them though.

Ordered mine on the 8th and it still says processing.

Wind-up merchants - clearly didn't have it in stock for me. Never going to get it in time for xmas now - have opened a querey 3 days ago but no response - they clearly just want me to cancel the order.

Still £17.95 from Zavvi, I think their delivery charge to Ireland is 99p, maybe someone could confirm this?

£17.95 is a great price, but even at €33 it still represents a heck of a bargain to me.

Was this from send it? Could you tell me if it would fit in through a standard sized letter box or do they need to knock on the door to sign?

Unlikely to fit through most people's postboxes. Mine arrived today and postman knocked.

I ordered on the 6th Dec. I wouldn't panic yet.

Depends. This time of the year there can be unforeseeable delays with the post. I ordered stuff from Amazon last Wednesday and i got it yesterday. It's a risk but if you are going to take it i wouldn't leave it longer than today. Zavvi have usually been 3-5 working days for me in the past.

Yeah, cutting it fine all right. Went for it anyway, i reckon it'll be less than the 18 days that are left.

Theres only 10 days left to xmas day if my calender is correct.:)

Zavvi say it is usually dispatch in 3 days which could be a problem.

Just tried to cancel my sendit order because they have been 'processing' the order for 7 days.

If Zavvi wouldn't dispatch til Friday then I would have no chance of getting i for Xmas.

Stupid sendit - wrecking my xmas buzz.

Apologies for resurrecting an old thread, but I see that my order (made 6/12) has finally 'despatched'. Just as I was about to cancel the f**ker. Now I don't know if it'll arrive in time for Xmas or not - it's a present for the old man. Nice one, sendit, last time I use those clowns, bargain or not

in the same boat man, i went to cancel yesterday and then got a mail saying 'failed to cancel' then today it was despatched...they were prolly jus too lazy to ship them out on time for christmas

I ordered mine on the 6th too. Late Sunday night i think. It was despatched on the Monday or Tuesday and i got it yesterday. So there may still be hope for those looking for it to arrive before Christmas. This was with send-it.

Same boat as you two, finally dispatched yesterday after over a week of 'processing'.

I tried to cancel on Tuesday but they wouldn't let me as the order was "pending dispatch" according to them! Bloody cheek.

Anyway it took another 36 hours for it to be dispatched. A present for the oul lad to and I won't be using them again if it doesn't get here in time.

What clearly happened by the way is that they didn't have enough stock for all the orders and only got some more in this week. Nothing to do with being lazy and not bothering to ship.

Should still get it around the same time. Can't wait. :) Got a friend to order it about 4 months ago from Amazon and after about 3 weeks they decided they hadn't got it. Been lookin forward to this for ages.

sorry to play devils advocate here but i ordered 2 copies also knowing it was extremely cheap for what it is, but that there was a possiblity that countless others would do the same given the great price and that just maybe between this great demand, christmas post and what not it may not arrive in time. if it doesnt ill buy something else and give it to them for another occasion.
christ if i really needed it that badly id go buy it in a store. fair enough people bought it from sendit as they expected them to get it out the next day but seriously at that price its not like it wasnt going to be snapped up by everyone in the same situation. were you all going to buy it as a xmas present in the first place or just because it came so cheap?
have used sendit a lot in the last 2 years and they have been very good for almost all my purchases. again last christmas there was issues with resistance 2 for me i think. it doesnt mean that if they have a bargain next week on something im not going to order and if you think these guys are bad, try cdwow, at least your order is now on its way with a fair few days post delivery still to go!!!

rant over....god ive got to stop coming on here after beers

I don't really know what you are trying to achieve with your defence of them here.

They adertised something at one price, didn't have enough stock to fufil the order (bare in mind this was well over a week ago) and kept that to themselves. They then refused to cancel my order 10 days after I made it on the grounds that it was oending dispatch (even though it said processing in my order status). It still wasn't shipp for two more days.

I have used sendit a bunch of times before but when a retailer is wrong they are wrong and no amount of wordplay will change that fact.

EDIT: You seem to be missing the point by the way, this has nothing to do with "christmas post". Our orders were not DISPATCHED until over a week after we ordered them. They told me, after two queries and after 2 full days, that they were out of stock and that is the reason for the delay.
