If you could legitimately kill yourself then it would be fine. But its an exploit.

"This is war, it's not meant to be fair" What does that even mean? Its a video game, it is meant to be fair.

lol there isnt much on the ps3 at the mo......and ive only seen one doing it the past few weeks/....

edit....1 guy did it today.....on afgan sabotage..... alexis1986 or somthing
he didnt get many kills but he did kill four of us trying to defuse

Wow you used an exploit to get 61 kills you must be a brilliant player. I would like to see you do it again as soon as the javelin glitch is gone. Whats the point in you even playing the game if you are just going to be an annoying cheater?

this happened me last night on sub pen i was on top of one of one of the roofs had a 10 kill streak going when boom dead kill cam showed the javelin glitch on the ground floor .the worst of it all is i had chopper gunner on in my kill streak.:(

That just defeats the whole purpose. I dont mind it when is used is used maybe once or twice but abusing of it can become very annoying, every time I see someone doing it I have to assume that the reason behind this is that they got tired of getting owned by everybody else and they need to find an alternative way to score points, an easy way.

You should consider fair play, if you are confident with your skills I see no need of you making use of this glitch, and if you are doing to piss people off well, I still dont see the point, when I see people doing it, even if it doesnt affect me I rather play with people you really want to enjoy playing, it really doesnt make you look good, u just need to grow up.

Kamikazes had a target in mind, you are just wandering around looking for someone to stab you. If you have a target then use a grenade instead, walk in holding it, at least that's a noble act!

Ha ha, yeah! Even though what they're doin is basically the exact same thing, I bet it sounds ridiculous to them!

This is definately really annoying. Must admit I did try it... hangs head in shame... and it was pretty funny to be honest! Certainly wouldn't be a tactic of mine though.

Anyway, on to the real reason for my post... The big dogs at microsoft and infinity ward have decided it's a punishable offence, and are handing out short bans for people doing this! I don't know if it's automatic, or somebody needs to complain or what the story is though. Below is the link i found on it.

I think it's a bit ridiculas to go handing out bans. They should just fix it and get on with it. As the author points out there are glitches in so many games, why should this one be the only one that gets you banned.
I'm not advocating people glitching, I'm just saying there should the same rules across the board.

i think ms are goin a bit off the rails here, i agree glitchers need to be stopped but just patch the game as per usual most glitchers have no skill and get owned when they are unable to glitch.

just experienced a game where three guys on the other team were doing this. chaos, absolute chaos.

to be fair, it's pretty funny to play a on a map like terminal and endure ten minutes of pretty impressive explosions.

handing out bans is a bit much. just patch the thing and have a bit of craic til then.

At first I thought the bans were a bit over the top. But the javelin glitch seems to be entirely gone out of practice without being patched yet. So I think maybe its a good thing. I paid for the game, I paid for the xbox live subscription so I think its a good thing that they've banned a practice that made the game unplayable. MS and IW are doing what they need to do to deliver to customers the product they paid for. And that seems like a good thing.....once it doesn't get too out of hand

Agreed. Some people take this online gaming lark very seriously and if I was one of those people and was paying a monthly subscription to play online, I'd be baying for blood. Good to see MS taking the initiative and banning the practice. If you want to glitch and exploit why not gather a load of like minded folk together and do it in a private match?
