Cruise Ship Work

Just wondering if anyone did the NTC personal trainer course and went to work on the cruise ships after?

I know the money's crap, and it's long hours, but I love travelling and thought this might be a laugh.

I did the cruise ships a few years back and loved it. 7 - 7 for 5.5 days per week and the money wasn;t great but I'd do it again (if I didnt have a child)

Go fo it, you need to get lucky with where you are sent, but if you dont like it, you can leave.

Where did you end up?

I hear there's a focus on selling stuff to make bonuses and stuff?Given I work in sales now, not an issue really, but just wondering how much of a focus there is on it?

I sailed the med, black sea and north africa so saw most of coastal europe and africa with some romania, russia etc. Some people got luckier, and went on world cruises but a lot of people end up in the caribbean, which might sound good, but once you've seen them once, there is nothing great about them.

There is a lot of pressure to sell but it depends on your manager, and how hungry they are. Some know that this is their last contract and dont care, some want to rule the world and are all over you everyday.

As I said, it really is the luck of the draw. You will train in London for anything from 1 day to 3 months and you'll be told at 4 pm today that you are flying to xxxx tomorrow am!

Steiner is the fitness + beauty.
Pay is crap.
Have i look under work + jobs for cruise ship search threads lots of info on there.

anyone any names of any other reputable companies except Steiner or are they all the same, i sort of messed it up with steiner with not getting back to them after signing the contract and so forth!!! maybe around europe!
are they all 7 to 7 and selling Ionithermie and other beuty product??
