Seen a guy at work eating one of these yesterday. They look nice and I thought they might be a good alternative to a protein bar and if you want something sweet.

Any idea where they can be bought? I'd probably want to go for a box or something.

Imstrongerthanu must have Gambled that the seven month old thread would dramatically and with unexpected good fortune be successfully replied to before Grandmaster followed his link to it. In which case Imstrongerthanu would have been covered in glory having saved the day.
It was a gamble, however, that wasn't to pay off and Imstrongerthanu was left having to stand over an untenable irrelevant and pointless thread link and withstand the withering sarcasm of Hanley and Cardio, shootme replies

Im not 100% sure, but I think powerbars are more for energy and have lots of glucose and provide energy rather than having much protein. The sort of stuff marathon runners/mountain climbers have

Ive seen them in some outdoor/climbing shops

would have to agree with this, just had a look at the nutrition content of some of the bars there are they generally seem to be coming in at around 20% sugar

I use powerbar gels and powerbar shots during long training runs and in races. Nothing but carbohydrate blend and glucose etc. Pure sugar with the odd vitamin thrown in!

I wouldn't advise them as a snack though if you are looking for something nutritious.

Sounds like I'd be as well to skip them. The guy who was eating them is a runner. He does about 18 miles a day. Totally insane :)

    make flapjacks instead

They're not nice. At all. They leave the most horrid aftertaste and are quite powdery. I use them chopped up on some long training runs or after long training runs/races if I'm far from real food.

Edit: the ones I generally use are the protein ones.

still would not recommend ANY protein bars - very processed and would way perfer a lara bar instead

I typed in naked bar to search for an image - go try that one!!!
