Are you the same on here as in 'Real Life'?

No idea why this popped into my head, but who cares, it's interesting (and no it's not schoolwork; as if I'd do homework).

Anyway, do you think you're the same on here as you are in real life? Are you more extroverted on here than you would be within a group of people?

Personally, I think I'm probably (believe it or not) a bit more reserved on here than in real life. I don't swear half as much on here, I can't insult people on here and I can't dance and shout in class... because it's a message board.

Anyway, question. Any different? Yay, Nay or Hay?

I am basically the same on here as when I am with a group of total Strangers, I am quite Alpha here. In real life I would be like that with Strangers if I knew Noone there.

But around my friends I am quiet enough usually.

It's kinda like that for me, except I seem to talk more in forums that I'd know people a bit better, such as C+H and UCC. Whereas on AH, I'm quiet enough, because I don't really know people here. Same as RL.

I would think there are a lot of differences between boards me and RL me. I'd be more inclined to take a risk with a joke online than in a group.

With a group of only good friends, classmates, people I'm familiar with I'm pretty much the same as here, if not more extrovert (if I'm in a good mood anyway).

With strangers I'm quieter, mainly because I find that I easily manage to say stupid things and make myself look like an idiot/**** infront of strangers. Thought before talk is the policy with strangers.

Same here. Well, quiet enough. I was far worse when I was younger.

I'm usually quite reserved when meeting people for the first time, until I warm to them and trust them a little bit ... then I'll open up and unleash the mental!

I'm intruiged that nearly every says they're quieter/more reserved when meeting people for the first time.

I'm the same as I am with good mates - loud, brash, facetious, a twat. That's what I am, people deserve to know that from the get-go; there's plenty of people who like me for it and plenty who hate me for it.

I tend portray myself as far more confident than I ever feel when meeting people for the first time; if I come across as obnoxious or irritating....well, them's the breaks! Most people seem to warm to it though

Well everyone is different I guess. When I meet people in general I'm not shy, you just have to muck in and get to know everybody. I'm using new jobs, college etc. as examples.

As for a boards event, I'd be wiring the drinks into everyone and waffling away. Thing is they all tend to be in Dublin city and it would be a bit of a hassle for me to get there and back. Well back is mostly the problem, its always that bit harder after you've had a drink or 15 :pac:
