    10 euro for 2 drinks

then if its a good night 10 euro to a club, ruby's

    5 euro food

No matter what I always manage to spend 70 euro or more, even times I brought a naggin with me I still spend a lot. I suppose the average would be around the 80 euro mark but if its a fairly long session(starting before 6pm) it can easily go well past 100 euro. I blame jager bombs for a lot of the money I spend on drink. i don't often use taxis so its all drink, entry fees and food.

On a very rare occasion I might get away with around 50 euro if we are drinking in a house before(which is rare) and bring a hip flask of something aswell, but I have not had such a cheap night in a while.

I'd normally take out 50...usually spend about 30/35.

The key is to get minimum 6 cans into ya before heading out and maybe sneak some vodka into a nightclub that's free in.

Pretty impressive Daragh but does this include actually going to a pub/nightclub or do you just go to a mates place? If you do go to a pub do you buy drink their or is it a case of cans under the table?

Interesting post Pighead and really looking forward to hearing Daragh's answer.

S0crates longs for the days of druirs, bluers and chewers. When he was 15, S0crates and his friends used to buy ten John Player Blue, 4 cans of Druids and a pack of chewing gum, all for less than a tenner. They would have sessions in the local primary school.
Every night ended in a chase from the pigs for trespassing, S0crates would do anything to do back to those days of carefree revelry!

    Last year: anything from 80 - 150

This year: 10 bottles of beer from the offie (10) Pub at 11:30pm and buy 5 or 6 beers for 25-30 euros.

    Food and taxis = 15

    Total now = 50-60

I'm the same as ya!! Always end up spending about €80-€100, even if I don't go out til 11pm. I blame the vodka and red bull.... f***ing expensive drink to be drinking all night.
Good job I only go out every 6 weeks or so. I Just drink in the house with friends most weekends, otherwise I'd be bankrupt :D

Depends - the more the government tax us on outdoor activities, the less I be damned to pay!

Ah to be a student again, £10 was all that was need for a great night out.
Now if i dont have at least €100 in my pocket going out i'll be worried about having no money for a taxi home.

Usually try and get drunk before I go out,but its Catch22 sometimes, sometimes the more pissed you get the more you spend out, naggin or not. Then if you decide not to go down that route and not drink beforehand you have a sh1t night listening to everyone else drunken craptalk!

    200mls of tesco vodka= €5
    club= €10
    nitelink= €5

€20 total. Might go real scabby on some food afterwards bringing me up to about €22-€24.

Straight after work night out... €150.

Home first then night out, €80-100

It hurts as much as the hangover sometimes. :(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,789 ✭✭✭✭ScumLord

All of it. I'm currently broke and eating canned chopped tomatoes for dinner because I went out on Saturday night. If I stay in between €20 - €30,

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,730 ✭✭✭✭entropi

I dont like to drink at home...dunno why but i'd spend around 45-50 as i eat before i go out, and walk home as it usually aint that far. The Jaëgr is what costs the most, but goes down oh so well:D

Thankfully the biggest advantage of hard drinking parents and family is that nobody notices all the missing whiskey. My nights out tend to be free apart from €10 into a club if Im going to one, and maybe cheap pints if Im feeling like Rockefellar

If theres a party in one of my mates house, i would generally bring along 6 cans...after that we would go to the night club round 12:30, but i get in for free most the time....would prob buy two in there then!

If i were going to a pub i would try and bring in an odd sly can:p..but after that its €4 pints!!

Depends. Averages from €40-€100 depending on the night and where we go/if I need to get a taxi etc.

I don't do the exact same thing or drink the exact amount of drinks every time I go out so obviously the amount varies. Anywhere between 50 - 200 I guess.

    lift in = gratis!!

    6 pints = 30euro

a drink for my lady of the night = 5euro

    taxi home = 5euro

    enjoying your night.. priceless

theres some things money cant buy

    for everything else, theres mastercard

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 619 ✭✭✭Dj Stiggie

I usually end up spending over 80, and the odd time that I've brought in a nagon I've drank the normal amount plus the nagon and end up having way too much

And to make it worse I usually only drink pints so its not like I'm spending loads on shorts and Red Bull or anything like that

I'm the worst student ever :(

Depends on the night out (a few varied examples):

-Staff Xmas Party 2008: €170 on drink + one nightmare of a hangover

-Staff Xmas Party 2009: €30 on drink, €40 on food + no hangover

-Friend's 21st Oct 2009: €30 on drink, buggered off to casino at 11:30pm, came home with more money than I left with.

-Ireland v. Italy in Croker: €30 on drink, went to casino after, came home having cleared out current account thoroughly broke.

-New Year's Eve 2008: €150 on drink, all nighter, no hangover.

My nights out vary in the amount of drink consumed, the expense and so on.

I'd say around 30-40 euro. Depending on where I am (cheap drinks) it could be 60. Spent that much in Capitol and The Turks Head last time I was out.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 699 ✭✭✭ashyle

I usually take out 50. Spend most of it on the taxi home sadly :(

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,488 ✭✭✭pikachucheeks

    About 30 euro.

Bus pass for the year so my travel is free ... Just pay for a few drinks!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,984 ✭✭✭Degag

From Kerry so if i stay in the local about 30-50 quid - €4 a pint. If i venture into town it averages at €100.

Was up to the All Ireland Final and dropped €200 each day on drink alone.... crazy. In fairness they were all day sessions i suppose.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,363 ✭✭✭Misty Chaos

For me, it depends on the night and the money.

On a normal Saturday night, I'll only spend between €30 - €50, that includes drink and food ( Thats even less if I don't drink at all )

However on a bank holiday, that amount can easily shoot up to nearly €100, blame the shots! The last bank holiday was a very messy one, to say the least!
