Listening to a harrowing story from a lady on RTÉ Radio 1 this afternoon about how she was abused by a Catholic priest, I got to thinking of Michael O Brien, a former Fianna Fáil mayor of Clonmel, on Questions & Answers earlier this year as he spoke with astonishing eloquence and ineffable emotion about how he was raped and buggered in an industrial school.

Here it is for those of you who still have not watched it:

The most moving scene I have ever seen on television. If there is an award for person of the year, I think that man should get it.

What person has impressed you most this year?

Is there an award ceremony where we can throw rocks at the winner?

    Mary Harney.

I wonder how long until all talk of the Harns is banned? :pac:

I agree with people saying Johnjoe, but Jedward...? Other countires know of them and think the rest of us Paddies are the same? I don't get it.

Made us forget about the mess our elected shower has made for a least a few minutes! :pac:

(No, I wouldn't really vote for them to win such a contest but they are not the worst.)
