Is that the definite lineup or speculation?

saf said he'll be playing the same team that got beaten by besiktas so unless there is injuries the above team should play tonight

cant see the kids beating Spurs if they play to their potential (spurs that is)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,785 ✭✭✭✭Paul Tergat

If spurs play their first team I think they will beat us

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 51,342 ✭✭✭✭That_Guy

    2-1 United for me.

That scoreline may change when I see Spurs' lineup.

I may be wrong, but I think people took Fergie's words too literally at his press conference. My reading of it was that they (young players) will play again, not necessarily the exact XI.

Again, could be wrong on that, and maybe he'll want them to have the chance to prove themselves again as a unit.

Yeah, i was thinking the same. No chance of rafael at left back again.

I also wouldn't be surprised to see Kuzak (whatever way you spell his name) in goal ahead of Foster.

    just call him the pig

    edit

heres the quote from saf about the team that will play spurs

“It will be the same players that played on Wednesday,” he said of his team for Tuesday’s visit of Harry Redknapp’s side. “Their future is well marked out, I think.”

It's certainly shorter and contains less z's and x's than the real name.

    Kuszcsak.

Break it down, Kus, zc, sak. Makes it easier to remember.

    Is this tonight or tomorrow?

Very boring OP. Where's all the fancy club logos and the line ups for both teams and what channels are showing the match. And no opinions either. For shame.

4 out of 10 for effort.

Is this a two legged affair? Too lazy to remember last year.

will be a very tough game for the young lads tonight. Redknap said he would rotate the Spurs team, as the league is the priority.

However, he has said the same previously before similar games and put out a strong first 11.

EDIT: Single game, only the Semi-Final is two legged. No replay either, penalties if required tonight.

    Our line up should be
    Gomes
    Hutton
    Dawson
    Bassong
    Assou-Ekotto
    Bently
    Jenas
    hudd/Palacios
    Bale
    Keane
    Defoe/Crouch/Pav

I think we'll beat them with the kids. I hope Gibson plays well. It's getting to the make or break stage for him now.

Does anyone know the squad? Think Berbatov should get a run out and Vidic should be given a rest for Evans if hes fit

    See first post :P

I'm gonna say Spurs as Man Utd won't put a strong side out.

I am hoping spurs will field a weak enough squad as they are still in a strong position in the league and may feel they could advance in the league to possible champions league

'Arry said he'd be playing the fringe players today. I guess that means the likes of Bentley, Pavlyuchenko, etc.

I hope Berba gets a start tonight actually. Neither team has this as their main priority, so I wouldn't expect it to be too physical, shouldn't be any risk in bringing him back.

Also I hope Nani features. The gauntlet has been laid down for him by Fergie. It's sh*t or walk time.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,589 ✭✭✭✭Necronomicon

I'd love to see Owen and Berbatov start of front, maybe with Wellbeck out right with Valencia rested.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,306 ✭✭✭✭Drumpot

Said to a spurs friend of mine that Im looking forward to tonights "friendly" . .

He didnt take too kindly to it at all ! ! !

He might start the team that played in CL last week . . Give them a chance to proove the papers wrong ! !

I hope this is the team he puts out as this is the team that everyone who backed Spurs to win tonight is hoping for. It is a very average team - getting beaten at home by Besiktas last week proved that. Spurs are bound to make 4 or 5 changes but they would still be better than the above with the likes of Jenas, Keane, Bentley coming in.

    PIG
    Nev Brown Vidic De Laet
    Obertan Ando Gibson Park
    Berba Welbeck

bench: Owen Giggs Tosic Carrick Fletch Kiko Amos

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,291 ✭✭✭eclectichoney

Happy with that team tbh. Glad PIG got the nod as he did very well on Saturday, and hoping De laet has a good game - I think he could be a great little squad player for us.

I think berba and wellbeck will work alot better than macheda and wellbeck.

Park on there to get fitness I'd say.

    Dissappointed Rafa isn't starting.

The bench does look a bit weak defensively alright  I suppose Fletch could do RB and De Laet / Nev CB if needed.
