lady fingers

ok, this is a bit of a weird one, but just wondering if this is just an inevitability with age or if it's preventable..

i'm female in my mid twenties and my fingers are starting to become wider. i'm a size 8 and always have been, but i've never had those kind of 'piano player fingers'. i always worried my fingers would turn out like my mum's and now i can see it's starting to happen :( hers always look a bit swollen, her wedding and engagement rings look really tight and bulge on either side. she's slim too and a busy lady, quite hands on, and she's big into her hand creams etc. but her hands have always been like that as far as i can remember. is it just an inevitability with age - some women get boney old lady fingers and some get swollen old lady fingers, regardless of their weight? like its just part of a body type?

i know it's a pretty trivial issue in the grand scheme of things, but i know i'm getting to the age now where this kind of stuff is going to start affecting me. i just always remember as a kid feeling sorry for my mum because it looked like her rings were squeezed on and looked painful (i know they're not).

anyone wiser than me seen this happen to their fingers, or know of anything that makes a difference?

I'd rather have wider fingers than crooked ones. Of course, I have really narrow fingers that have been broken a few too many times. Hopefully they'll get wider :p

I have to laugh because i thought the same thing about my fingers the other day. They do look like they're putting on weight. I hope it's not me:(

If thats all you have to worry about your a lucky lady.

Both my baby fingers I can't straighten fully (yes odd I know yrs of horse riding holding reins & piano I guess) anyway it's the last thing on my mind. Anyway my point is move past it there are worse things, if they get the size of sausages then start to worry! :D
