    Why are autumn exams always easier than the 1st time round ones? :confused:

    Because your effectively studying for the same subject twice, and youve lots more time to study for autumn exams in comparison to Winter or Summer ones.

    I don't mean I've found them easier - I've never written one. But when I use them to study each year I think, "Jaysus, wouldn't it be nice to write these ones instead."

    Perhaps I should fail the first ones on purpose? :o

    Is there a limit to the mark you can get in Autumn? Like if you get, say, 99%, would you only get a "pass?"

    Also, do you have to fail to take them, or can you take them if you feel like improving your grade?

    Anyone?

    AFAIK its just a pass grade, but that can depend on your department, and certain circumstances concerning why you are doing autumn exams. I had a slight case of the death one year and got an exam differed, my % result in autumn was my % result, it wasnt a 40% pass result.

    You cant do them to improve your grade.

    No, you can't take them to improve your grade. If you're doing them, you've either failed the 1st exams or had them deferred for personal reasons (bereavement, illness...).

    I can't speak for other courses, but I know in Medicine if you're repeating your exams in August, the mark you can get is capped at the pass mark. I would assume it's the same for other courses though.
