Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Where would one get the lovely greenery and lights to drape over the mantelpiece ? Is there a name for them ? Garland ?

Yes they are called Garlands, you can get them in most stores Dunnes, Woodies, Argos etc. Mine didn't come with lights so I just bought a little set of battery operated LEDs and entwined them in it or an ordinary set of fairy lights would work also. Now would be a good time to buy as most stores selling off their Christmas decorations at half price or more.

A stunning bunch of trees this year love them all

Putting tree up on Sunday but just wondering is it only pictures of trees that can be posted here or can we put up pics of our other decorations?

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 5,575 ✭✭✭AlanS181824

    ^

I guess you should get Posy to give the proper go ahead but what me and a few people did last year was post the pic of the tree and then under that have some other decorations.

I guess you'll need Posy to though for sure though! :pac:

No lights yet we have to wait until next week or a little longer for a new transformer. So here it is - our Christmas tree - with no lights lol!!

Disappointing you can't see all the lights, the "expert" decoration by the kids is obvious though.

We usually get A big real tree, but this year we decided to try one of the fake ones from Argos. It's much smaller than I'm used to but I think it looks quite well considering the price!

It doesn't look like it in the photos, but the room is really cosy and Christmassy. It's just not possible to capture it all in a photo! Our mantelpiece lights aren't working at the moment so it will have to do as it is for the moment.

Here's our one that went up yesterday! It really has seen it's day now that it's the 17th year putting this one up. Next year hopefully i'll get my wish & put a real one up

It's never too late for a bit of Christmas goodness. I'm only showing the corner of our 'lit' tree due to me misjudging the lights(lots on the bottom, much less on the top). The cat's called Felix... :p

    ozAqWRSl.jpg

...and here it is unlit(before we switched the chair and tree around),

    MERRY CHRISTMAS! ...what!??

I know it's 7 months late but 4 months early for this year! We have 2 trees, a 6 foot one from our apartment we decorate in blue and silver, which looks sad in our bay window. So we bought a new one but it's too big! So in a few years we'll buy a nice wider 6 foot

Second one is 7 foot, we decorate in red and green, can't wait to get them up! Will be up for the toy show!

You can sort of see the blue one in the glass here

The first image is of the storage radiator lit & decorated.
The second is of the display with the lights off,
And the third is of the TREE :D and the display :D.

Hey guys just a reminder of the OP.
[*]Minimum relevant discussion is okay, but "nice tree" type posts will just be deleted.

If you like a tree just thank the post rather than posting. I had to delete some nice tree posts. It makes it easier for us to snoop on all your trees if there's no chat interrupting the pics.
