Sit-ups are a perfectly good exercise, but all they'll do is give you stronger muscles under the flab. To shift the flab, you have to lose bodyfat all over. That means clean diet, cardio and lifting hard with compound lifts.

Pilates is good for working your midsection, but it won't work miracles.

As posted before its quite simple , burn off more calories than putting in, a healthy diet is vital for those last flabby little bits that the cardio cant get alone , so do without the obvious no nos such as high fat butter, milk, white bread even in small doses. If you want to lose them before christmas you will have to even do without the little treats here and there , be strict with yourself and if drinking out stick to vodka and lemon or low fat beers such as coors lite, bud lite etc.
