Good idea from ROH and nice card too. Will be away for New Years but would have bought this otherwise.

It's early this year dude- 19th Dec. Will you be away that soon?

I urge anyone who hasn't given ROH a shot before, or in a long time- to try this out. Pre-order is $12.95- which is a steal. Seeing ROH live, as it happens, is just so much better than watching it a couple of months down the line.

I'll probably be doing play-by-play coverage for it for our website as well which should be pretty cool.

Ah OK, jesus I'll give this a shot in that case. I just hope my crappy internet connection would be able to handle the stream.

Whats your website michael? Could be good craic to have a few of us up watching this live online.

^ I could definitely dig that. What time would it start our time? 2-3am?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 937 ✭✭✭michael.etc...

I read somewhere that it's gonna be 7.30, which works out at like 12.30 for us i think?
I'll probably order it next week, once ROH have confirmed a few more details.

There's another guy that might be doing it- but I've already offered too, so it might be a combined thing. But if there's a few people here watching, i could maybe gather a few of your opinions into a mailbag type thing.

Support the company and order it,don't stream it for free to others not saying anyone will but for the price they are asking for a big show it is well worth it

Why ??? If you like it, you support it. I haven't watched RoH but have heard nothing but good things from it. On that, I'm prob gonna get it, I want to see if RoH is as really good as people build it up to be .

Same with you and TNA, if you had to pay to watch all TNA PPV events (forget Bravo) would you do it???

Unless you have something constructive to add, please do not bother.

    Added to the card......
December 19th in New York City. ROH Officials are happy to accept Steen’s request, and we can announce that a rematch between Kevin Steen and El Generico against the Young Bucks has been signed and will take place as part of Final Battle 2009. Steen has also requested to address the crowd following the match.

Awesome. Bucks are having a sensational year.

Best tag team in the world at the moment by quite some way.

Do we think they'll finally pull the trigger on Tyler Black?

Do we think they'll finally pull the trigger on Tyler Black?

I think they might. But I also think they're a year too late.

ROH have an annoying habit of building a new guy up brilliantly, but then failing to strike when the iron is hot, when his popularity is at its absolute peak. Happened with Nigel, Homicide and now Tyler.

Black was on fire around the time he was having great matches with Danielson and Nigel, they should have pulled the trigger then.

Roderick Strong vs Kenny King has also been added to the Final Battle card. This is looking really good thus far.

Card thus far highlights how strong their tag division is more than anything. Can't wait to see what madness Hart gets up to, I read there lately hes in trouble in AAA for hitting whatever moves he likes during matches and basically ingoring backstage instructions.

Hero/Kingston is always good fun. Hopefully they'll stiff the living bejaysus out of each other.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 937 ✭✭✭michael.etc...

The great thing is, it's something that should stand out as totally different from the rest of the card. The Fight's without honor almost always deliver as well.

Personally, i'm not a fan of Kingston at all, but enough fans want to see this to make it the perfect match-up for Hero at the biggest show of the year.

dam i wish i bought extra front row to re sell for profit to this event

last show glory by honor some one paid me 400 for my extra front row seat via stubhub.

and btw id also like to know what the heck is the gimmick behind that hero vs kingston match

Isn't Fight Without Honour not just No DQ?

Isn't Fight Without Honour not just No DQ?

Technically, yup- it's a streetfight. But historically, they've only used the name to brand finales to feuds that are particularly personal and are deserving of an extra boost in status.

Should also mention, that they came about because in the early days ROH wrestlers were required to adhere to the "code of honor", and shake hands etc- but it was truly the mark of a personal grudge when two wrestlers had to resort to a FWH to settle an issue.

Isn't Fight Without Honour not just No DQ?

Its no DQ but they usually use a Fight Without Honour as the blow off match to a feud as well, so as michael said when they go to the trouble of calling the match that it usually turns out to be extra special.

Edit: the bauld michael too quick.:pac:

Thanks for clearing it up, michael.etc.../Flah

From what I've heard/read on RoH, I might buy this. It'll be interesting to watch seeing as I haven't really a clue on who anyone on the card is.

What match would ye rate high on the card??

All of these matches have the potential to be tremendous.

In particular keep an eye out for the Young Bucks. Best tag team in the world by a long way. They've had a ridiculously good year.

Depends what yer after really- I think the show's strength will be in variety, and it just being a really belting, entertaining effort from start to finish. They usually get the big shows like this right- Final Battle 2006 and 08 are great, great examples.

Personally, for me, the Tag title match should be the stand-out. It should be incredible. Strong vs King will probably suprise anyone not familiar with King, it could be a true breakout moment for him.

It appears that it's only a live stream offered and not a download or access to view it at a time of your choosing over a 7 or 14 day period.

A good deal for those who want to stay up late I suppose.

As far as Im aware, you will still be able to access the show after the event. I think it's posted in the "video" section of GoFightLive, and if you've already paid for the stream you can access it as many times as you like for a period. Unless anyone's heard anything else?

This is reassuring. Its looking increasingly likely I'll be scuttered drunk on the night in question. Hilarity may ensue on the forum if I make it home to the laptop in one piece.:pac:

lol professional poster. i cant see this doing too good well with tna holding a ppv and all the following night. people will be forced to choose and tna offers more bang for your buck. i respect what roh is trying to do, i really do but yeah we won't be seeing another stunt like this again.

If ROH doesn't do well its because they're a niche product in a niche market with a fanbase thats gotten disillusioned with the company's new direction of late. Nowt to do with TNA tbh.

Strange to call streaming a live PPV on the net a "stunt" as well.
