Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Just seen Sky News there and that figure standing over the guy in the water is the gunman .

When I seen it first I was thinking it was a rescue personal , but the images of the gunman (dressed in police suit) are the exact same .

There is such thing as hell on earth .

    92 now confirmed dead :(

You can see the gun in the picture, fresh blood in the water, and that kid has his hands up in defence, considering they're actually pictures of the incident unfolding, we can hardly get a warning to that effect on the post? The times technically have an image of victims, completely different thing though.

It was a video of the body of a murdered woman being mutilated. Why anyone feels the need to watch something like that is beyond me, and it's not something that we will ever deem acceptable on this site.

My god, if ever there was a need for "internet police" this is a case for it, how is live leaks able to put stuff up like that without it being removed? Music Videos of recording artists are taken down due to copywright/licence infringements but not this?! I genuinely could not sleep after seeing that. Sickened me to my core that sh!t is going to haunt me.

No offence to anyone, but the lady in the wheelchair looks ancient. I thought it would be the woman standing behind the wheelchair and the woman at the left in the picture were the happy couple.

    Anyway good luck to 'em.

Seriously? Did you read the article? They've been together for years and couldn't get married, now they can, so they did. Age doesn't matter...

Not to be a buzzkill on that photo or anything, but London doesn't use the european speed signs so that is from somewhere else.

Seems to have been verified alright - there's a tram line there (either Croydon or Clapham, not sure). Hence the signs.

    according to charlie brooker

"Okay. That photo of the woman jumping from the fire? Genuine. The 'European road signs' are tram signs. It's Croydon."

They don't all match up

There are two photography prizes awarded each year - Spot News Photography & Feature Photography. The list on Pulitzer Prize website is of the Feature Photography winners, but the photographs on the other link is a mixture of both.

    Jon_Hawkeye.JPG

The picture shows Petty Officer 1st Class Jon Tumilson's loyal dog Hawkeye lying by the soldier’s casket where he refused to leave. Tumilson (35) was one of the 30 American special operation troops killed earlier this month when a helicopter was downed in Afghanistan. The photo was taken by Tumilson’s cousin, Lisa Pembleton, who wrote on Twitter that she “felt compelled to take one photo to share with family members that couldn’t make it or couldn’t see what I could from the aisle.”

I don't think so. Nobody seriously respects the daily mail but I don't think they'd go as far as publishing a photoshop.

Also apparently he's wearing shorts and a tee shirt, you just can't see it clearly because of the colours

I don't think it's beyond the realms of possibility that the photograph is real... apparently Steve Jobs hadn't been out in public for two months prior to that photograph, a lot can happen with cancer in two months.

Well it appeared first on TMZ so you can understand my scepticism.

After a bit of googling, the internet seems to agree that its probably real

Let's take this back a few years.

    a9d9cdd9dbb89b4c_landing.jpeg?w=467&h=600

This picture, taken by George Strock on Buna Beach in Papua New Guinea in 1943, is now considered a "war classic" and was printed by LIFE Magazine to do exactly what this thread is about: Shock. The Roosevelt government was convinced that Americans had grown too complacent about the war.
