Part of the problem is that when he appears in interviews as himself he's combative, evasive, weird, patronising and not very funny. At least the times I've seen him. The time he was on Vincent Browne's Friday night show was a case in point.

I like The Savage Eye a lot, and I think he's also a gifted comic actor.

I agree. I just think he is a massive P1ss Taker and cannot bring himself to take the Interviewers as seriously as they would like him to and thats why he usually gives stupid or meandering answers to their invariably stupid questions.

I have completely gone off chat shows for this reason. I mean Tubbers .........really ????

I used to absolutely love watching PK Plank squirming in his Swivel chair when he had Dave on :D

I happen to like Comics that are fearless and say what I am thinking.

Of course I understand how he could come across as arrogant etc but in fairness, the majority of the sketches in the Savage Eye are hilarious and really hit the nail on the head. Some are hit and miss of course but thats the nature of all sketch shows and all comedy in general.

We need more of that and less of that Agnes Brown tripe !

It was very funny in my opinion. Not really any weak sketches in there. Roll on series 3 I say. :)

It being Christmas, going to be charitable and just say it was... bad.

And by 'bad' I mean the literal definition, not the hipster one.

I loved the last series though.

Have only just saw some of this, being away and all. The barman is absoloutely priceless, hurt your sides laughing. McSavage has always been a class act, jesus I remember 10 odd years ago he would be in Temple Bar with a guitar taking the piss out of every passing skanger, goth and other subhumans.
