LIVE ON RTÉ2 and BBC (red button).

Opportunity knocks for some of our up and coming stars to stake a place in Irish XVs of the future.

Let's be honest though, this game focuses on one player, and his quest to seize the Irish jersey from He Who Must Not Be Named. Let's hope he gets good service from the pack and fellow halfback Eoin Reddan so he run the show. Good luck to him and let's pray he takes his chance.

    Ireland by 25.

Game focuses on a lot more than just the ten spot, think by including Leamy we are loosing out on a oppertunity to look at our future prospects at 7, Don't get me wrong I like Leamy as a player and he has always performed well in the past for Ireland but he is not and never will be a 7. Same goes for Shaggy think there were better options on the wing. I'm surprised we played so many of the first choice team and think BOD should have been rested. Having said that will be interesting to see how the 9-13 axis works as it may determine who gets the 12 between darcy and Wallace for the saffer game!

Kidney is a very clever manager and my reading is BOD is there as support for Sexton, Leamy is being tried at 7 so that he would have cover on the bench for a 6, 7 and 8 if he ever has Leamy on the bench. Shaggy is only a few months older than BOD and is in way better form than last year so I wouldn't rule him just yet. He is a very strong winger and is possibly getting his chance to lay a stake on the wing against SA.

Shaggy's form is great and has been since the middle of last year but bar several injuries I can't see him coming back into the side for the 6N

If either Bowe or BOD get injured I think we'll see Horgan back in the side - he'll drop right in to replace Bowe or take Bowe's slot with Bowe going to OC if BOD is injured. So really not all that unlikely.

News reports indicate it's going to be very bad conditions tomorrow - hope it won't take away from the game too much.

A well thought out post. You must have been fine tuning that for days. Delighted to get it off your chest, were you?

And to sum it all up a wonderful observation!

Anyway back on topic. I've slight concerns for the weather, we'll still win but the margin depends on weather. I'd say Ireland by 20.

Yeah, been played in the RDS. First international play there I think.

Not sure about the tickets. I would be surprised if they were all sold out though.

Look at the RTE preview picture they are using for their match preview:

Honestly.... why do media outlets always pick the absolute worst photograph to accompany their articles?

Song is 'What is Love' by Haddaway (silly Euro dance track).
The pic is from a brilliant regular Saturday Night Live sketch (later made into a bad bad movie however - called 'Night at the Roxbury'?) where Chris Kattan and Will Ferrell and that week's guest hit the town.
It was so funny. From around 1991-1992.
Used to show the whole lot on Arena channel in Australia. Had the lot on video til a work mate bloody lost it on me.

SNL patrol the internet to shut down any clips from their shows so I couldn't find an original clip that didn't have any overdub by the person posting it unfortunately.

Decided to visit the Fiji Rugby website and came across this blog note:

    http://www.fijirugby.com/pages.cfm/fru-news?newsid=europe-diary-day-14--sean-hurler

Cannot help but warm to the guys!

I have a few small regrets in life, one was turning down ain invitation to travel to Fiji.

    Was overwelmed by the Fijian's:

    - Generosity
    - SIZE!

I felt like a baby shaking hands with giants :)

Looking forward to the match today....though I'll probably look like a prune after :)

Kidney is a Genius. Giving Sexton his first cap against a weaker international opposition in Leinsters home graound the RDS, surrounded by his Leinster team mates. No excuse now!

You didn't miss anything its by and large a dump. Lots of poverty, crime and racial tension with the Indian population. Images of an Island paradise are wide of the mark.

I lived in NZ for a few years and the Fijians are great neighbours but if you want a living example of a tribal culture unable to embrace the modern world its Fiji. Some of the smaller remote islands are nice though.

Weather in RDS looks fine now where mcgurk is.

I would love to see him coach Ireland for a season. Get some great selection and tactics.
