Just curious I noticed Irish males over the last ten years have embraced the ghetto black mans trousers(which is not at all appealing) I wondered how many of you actually buy trousers that fit and wear a belt?

I buy stuff that fits and wear a belt.
The belt is for my keys, phone and strapping other personal security items on to.
What's wrong with wearing a belt?

Apparently this fashion is supported by the police. It actually is very difficult to flee the scene of a crime in those trousers.

yep I wear trousers that fit and a belt when required.

I don't really get the whole ghetto look when it comes to trousers/jeans etc.. When I see people sporting this "fashion" I can't help but think, "Jebus, this retard either can't dress himself properly or he can't shop for himself properly."

Plus when it rains the water seeps up to your whole leg making it look like you pi$$ed yourself. Though same can be said of baggy track bottoms.

Each to their own though I suppose

I wear trousers that fit. The belt is an accessory.

People who wear their jeans like this are fashionable to their friends and those with whom they want to associate, and guess what? That matters more than what malcontents and people on the internet think.

It should be interesting to note that this fashion trend of ''sagging'' (as it is known), which is immensly popular in hip-hop and rock cliques, actually originated in American prisons. Certain prisoners would wear their trousers as such, as an advertisement that they were prepared to be a willing participant in anal sex.

So, I always wear a belt and always wear jeans/trousers that fit me!!!

    Not strictly true.

It was used to control the "lines" as they call them over there to access the toilets.

A prisoner would advertise his "degree of need" by allowing the trousers to sag.

The lower the "sag " the greater the need as it were.

In the event of "premature evacuation" the clothing enabled the prisoner to avoid embarrassment and make it back to the cells.
This is also why the jocks are on display,as no jocks means in big trouble.

no - it's the result of inner city youth wearing their brother's oversized hand-me-downs and having the belts taken off them in jail to prevent suicide.

    Trousers and belt.
    Saggy pants uncomfortable
    and constant readjustment needed.
    Annoying basically.

I find them more bearable than seeing a lot of teens in scruffier attire, i.e. - Track suit bottoms...

Depends on the jeans. I have saggy jeans that I wear without a belt, and other jeans that I wear with a belt.

Trousers should always have a belt.

I wear my jeans sagging a bit. But i always wear a belt. Without one i'd be sagging around my ankles.

Unless you require the services of a home-help, your trousers should fit.

clothes that fit ftw. fcuked if i'd ask louis copeland to make me a baggy suit.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 14,575 ✭✭✭✭FlutterinBantam

Look horse, you don't want a suit that's too tight either.

Look at those cnunts on Sky Sports Jamie Redknapp and such, sitting up on high chairs and their bolloxes almost bursting from the suits.

    Check it out!

That is bad for you man.

I wear tracksuit bottoms with a belt or suspenders.
Anyone who doesn't should be shot.

I used to be terrible for it, hanging by my calves for my late teens..

Still sagging a litte but belted up to hold then within legal saggyness!!!;)

I wear trousers that fit as well as they can, but I'm a lardass and any belt I've tried leaves me bleeding, so I'd rather just look uncool.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 454 ✭✭Jay Pentatonic

I always have to wear a belt, mainly because I'm so skinny & they never have my size (a size 32 is quite loose!:o).
I hate asking "do you have this a size or two smaller":(

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 399 ✭✭barakus

I remember seeing lil wayne at some mtv awards thing there while backand his pants were sagging so low his bollox and willy were hanging over the top of them.

    Now thats Gangsta.

Like others I'm stuck with a 32 inch waist even though I shot up to 13 stone once. I have to wear a belt otherwise it falls down. I'd like to know why 32 inch is the smallest waist you can get most of the time? There are lots of skinny men out there.

Fine in the depths of a winter snowstorm or flood. Slightly vagranty looking the rest of the time. ;)
