How Many Nukes Have You Gotten?

Well for me it's been 3 so far, and I got them all yesterday. The key to getting an easy nuke for me I think is this:

Have your killstreak rewards set to Harrier Strike, Chopper Gunner and Tactical Nuke. Set Perk 2 to Hardline, but this is optional if you think you'd do better in terms of getting a streak with a perk like Stopping Power. Be careful and get the Harrier to drop on the enemy, and providing it doesn't get taken out, provide you with enough kills to get your Chopper Gunner. Find a safe place to whip out the laptop and rain down havoc upon the heads of your enemies until your nuke is acquired. If you're playing an objective gametype like Demolition or Domination, let your enemy capture or detonate the points until they're just about to win, then drop the nuke for added lulz in the postgame lobby.

I have the nuke unlocked but I just don't have the balls to use it yet. I use Care Package, Attack Helicopter and Chopper Gunner. Starting to regularly get higher streaks though, so I might forego the Care Package in favour of the nuke

Anyone else think that Chopper Gunner is better than the AC-130??

I was playing a match on my mates GT who has it unlocked, and when i got i was trilled.

i played a few more matchs and other players got it in the first 5 mins of the match and detonate it as soon as they get it, then just ending the game. I was rightly pished.

So now im not going to use as i feel its a unfair perk. Ending a game like that is like in other games when the host leaves and its game over.

I like using the attack chopper and ac 130, i find it better to get higher kill streaks in the full length of the game.

I'd do it. Care packages are great and all but they're a bit too hit and miss, and any kills picked up from them don't count towards your killstreak.

And the AC-130 isn't as good as the Chopper Gunner, but both have their pros and cons. The chopper is fairly easy to shoot down given a determined enough team but it's much quicker to spot targets and take them down instantly. The AC-130 is very destructive and extremely difficult to take down easily, but it's quite easy to hide in a building away from one and escape its weapons while it reloads.

It's a stupid feature anyway.

Reward someone who is clearly talented at the game with an instant win. That sounds real balanced.

And that's exactly why I'm thinking of getting rid of it. Started using cold-blooded last night instead of Stopping Power... I'm staying alive a lot longer, but occasionally people stayed standing when Stopping Power would put them away... Off to Hardcore perhaps?!

I know this is nitpicking, but it's not an instant win. If you use an EMP during the countdown you stop the nuke Likelyhood of happening... Ya, not so much :pac:

yeah but considering the person will have at least 25 kills which in say TD is 2500. One third of the score required to win. Probably a sh1t load of long shot, head shot and buzzkill bonuses do they really need a Tactical Nuke.

I cant really see what it adds to the game tbh except to further hammer the weaker team while they are being beasted by a dude racking up 25 kills.

Same with the Chopper Gunner and AC-130 tbh.

I know the EMP will stop most of the enemy killstreak bonuses but as you say, its rare. I have never even seen a tactical nuke, I think I'll be waiting even longer to see one stopped with an EMP. That's the thing usually the team who get the EMP don't even need it as they are capable of racking up the kills and the opposing team are probably not even getting many killstreak bonuses.

I cant even count the number of times I've played against a far superior team and then they start reigning hell down. I cant help but think "Wow we cant even keep up with these guys man for man, let alone with all the killstreak bonuses" The fun, has left the building.

Its fine when you're on the team doing the rapage (I never complain about winning ) but when you are on the receiving end it seems like the killstreaks are too advantageous.

TBH I prefer the battlefield model where the vehicles are on the maps and whoever gets into them uses them. Rewarding talented players with extremely powerful bonuses seems a bit backwards when it comes to trying to keep a game balanced.

i don't think people play multiplayer to win the matches.
At least for me, the score and the kills matter far more.

I can see this being of use for competitive play, where there is a reason to want to win a match, but not in most cases.

What would any one rather in a game
4000 points and 40 kills, or a win in TDM?
Seems a no brainer to me

Haven't seen one yet either and I'll never ever get to launch one because the highest streaks I ever get are only about 5 lol

got 1 using the harrier and chopper gunner rewards. on an open map a chopper gunner is going to get you up to at least a 20-21 kill streak so they should have pushed the nuke back to 30 or 35.

Won't be using it too many times anymore though. Fun the first few times admittedly yes. But even my mates were getting a tad annoyed as I got 3 within 7 matches 2 nights ago and ended it early cause I had use the toilet/feed my cat/or too tempted to use it LOL.

Can you get a nuke from the care package? Haven't seen one yet, it annoys me that your kills using a care package reward doesn't count towards your next killstreak

I'd say its possible, but extremly unlikely. You can get all the other KS rewards in care packages. Prob about a 1 in 10,000,000 of all care packages, or crazy odds like that.

Been playing the game for over a week now and only saw my first nuke tonight. Good perk for the user but a bit meh for the rest of the team.

Havn't seen one myself, although i did get a 25 kill streak i hadn't it unlocked,

all you need is 7 kills for harrier that will give you up to the 11 mark for the chopper and if game is full of idiots who ignore the chopper you'll get 25 in no time. pretty useless on free for all and team death match that ammount of kills will pretty much get you a win before the nuke goes off.

This morning i watched a youtube strategy guide on how to get a nuke. It had the same setup as the op. In the 4 games i played this morning ive gotten 1 nuke and i was 1 kill away from getting a second. Its actually really really easy to get. With hardline perk it takes only a 6 killstreak which isnt difficult if your positioned correctly/aggressive enough. Once i got the 6 kills its time to hide. If your lucky you may get 2-3 kills with the airstrike then the harrier should get another 4-5. Thats 12 kills leaving the chopper to mow down another 12. Thats provided someone doesnt shoot either of the aerial attacks down.

Ive seen maybe 2-3 nukes launched so far. The best part about them is the trash talk before someone sets it off. "take this bitches" etc.

at lvl 68 now and have never seen one i tend to use care package,turret and emergency package

after emergency package at 8 kill it gets a bit **** as teh no more kills streak

also the double 1887 rock

Would it not be a bit unfair if you got a chopper gunner out of a care package and then get enough kills to earn another one?

Kills you get from care packages don't get added to your killstreak, so that wouldn't work.

i don't know why but i have gotten killstreaks from other killstreaks can't remember which ones but they weren't the bigger ones

Its only kills from killstreaks, obtained through the care package killstreak, that don't count towards your killstreak.
All other kills from killstreaks should count towards your next killstreak I think.

I was playing last night all of a sudden little counter in the top right corner 5 seconds later game over nuke was dropped.

The guy who dropped it had 65 kills all using a intervention sniper rifle but man this yank was good you couldn't get near him.

First night I played a game of Domination where my team hammered the opposition, there top scorer had 7 kills, they won with a tactical nuke, I can only assume that came in a care package.
