    Simple question, I'll start:

Comes down to a shortlist of three, McCaw, Brussow or Pocock. Or in other words, a 7.

Of the three, I think I'd go with Brussow, simply because at 28 McCaw's getting on a bit, and we do not need another experienced player.

Castrogiovanni or Adam jones. 3 is the position we most need someone and a good scrummager at that.

My vote goes to giovanni. Made bits of the BOKS and our scrum is weak

Why pick a player who was taken apart by our newest addition to the front row?:pac:

It would have to be Brussow for me, watching him over the summer and most recently against France he was outstanding at the breakdown, he is almost guaranteed to steal opposition ball when he gets into position and we badly need a breakdown specialist.

Why would it be Borthwick is one of the best players to ever play the game

    Borthwick is a class act.

    Steven Ireland.

I just thought it odd that out of all the players in the world to choose from Borthwick would be it. That's all.

taken apart, come on, healy held his own against him.

why brussow, ferris would be the same league.

paul warick, would be an exellent addition to the squad

Because Brussouw is an Openside, which we badly need (numbers in SA backwards, remember?)

I'd be for Brussouw myself, unless our backrow gets down over the ball more in the next two games.

I think it'd definitely be an openside for me alright. I actually think we need an openside more than we need a tighthead. (Though it's close.)

Brussow or Pocock as we need a 7 badly.

otherwise i'd love to see Mils Muliania on the team, star player at 11,13,14 or 15

Never mind Castro I would still have Carl Hayman over him.

I would say McCaw, he is like a BOD in the forwards, does everything brilliantly, drives a team on, leads and is one of the greats already.

Yes, it was a joke sir.

Really? Yeah, one of those flankers previously mentioned probably.

Dan Carter or Du Preez are probably the only other 'the best player in the world' contenders that don't already play for us, so one of them I guess.

Yeah, OK, our scrum is weak, but a good prop wouldn't win us a world cup. Brussow, McCaw, Du Preez or Dan Carter might.

Neil Francis....even now. That guy changed the game forever. Kind of like a Jonah Lomu, except far more significant. Ground breaking.

Other than that, Rocky or Matfield maybe.

 To even class Neil Francis in the same category as the great Borthwick is a disgrace.

When we have a player like Ferris at 6, picking rocky is a complete waste. If we had Dan Carter we'd be amazing.

After the game yesterday, a new TH is our most pressing concern. I hate to say it but Hayes was awful, for all his service over the years. Carl Hayman.

Off the top off my head, Medard,Hayman,Clerc.

Would go for McCaw though. Quite possibly the finest seven ever. Brussow has had an unbelievable year but McCaw has been doing it for years. If Brussow is as effective next year when the video analysis has picked him apart then he deserves to be mentioned in the same breath as McCaw.

Not really, don't believe he is...when he's good he's very, very good but when he's bad he's horrid. Temperament suspect, especially under pressure...a very, very good player mark you, but for me, consistently over the last half-decade Darren Lockyer is easily and comprehensively the best player in the world in either code, (you can stick your Johnny Wilkinsons and your Dan Carters into a cocked hat next to this guy's genius, skill, athleticism and best of all, humility and massive team/work ethic)but thats probably a debate for another day....;)

His stats are staggering. Then again, he does play for Australia. Given that they're the only decent league team, that might help.

The world champs, NZ, might give you an argument on that! But enough, I'll get in trouble (rightly) for dragging this OT..see you all on the league forum...

Which is one of the funniest things to ever happen in any sport ever. Australia dominate league, wasn't that like their first loss in a dozen games to New Zealand or something?

Anyway, it's not strictly speaking off-topic, he's an out-half, you might want him for Ireland. ;)

Bit harsh, he was fine for the first half and the beginning of the second, he started getting hammered from then on though, hardly surprising when he hasn't played in 5 weeks. Kidney keeping him on was a poor decision I think.
