Try 53 Degrees North in Blanchardstown SC. They have powder chalk and liquid chalk.

It also depends on where you train.
Apparently a good few places ban chalk, presumably cos of the rather harmless mess it makes.

The Liquid is easier to hide from the staff in such places.

I much prefer liquid chalk. When I apply powder chalk there will often be a cloud of chalk dust hanging in the air which can give me asthma symptoms.

AFAIK the liquid chalk is just powder chalk mixed with alcohol, it dries quickly on the hands and can then cause dust in the air but not as bad.

When using liquid chalk do you just put it on once before starting lifting or apply it before every set like regular chalk or how do people use it? I have a bottle but never used it yet.

I warmup without chalk and then use some, sometimes it lasts a few sets, sometimes it needs replenishing. Before a "big lift" attempt I'll always apply some as I find the act of applying chalk gives me extra confidence.

Usually liquid chalk would last through ~3 sets of deadlifts. As I get nearer the topset I may be sweating more and use it every second set.

The further through a workout you are, the more often you may have to apply it... as the sweat from your hands negates the chalk quicker.

I hate that gyms ban chalk - terrible attitude they have!

To think that some members actually lift 'free' weights is bad enough!:)

Luckily I have never been in a gym that banned chalk. I think if you are discreet with your chalk usage which is pathetic then you should be ok.

I personally prefer the regular chalk.
