New apartment block with gym

    Hey,
    I just moved into a new place that has a small gym on the ground floor. Figured I may as well use the equipment they have, since its probably covered in the rent!

    Just looking for some advice, as a beginner, as to what to do with the machines.

    I've attached some photos of the equipment.

    How long would i be aiming to work out for? 30/60 mins, x times a week? does that include threadmill?

    really what would be ideal is if i could find somewhere that could tell me "Do X on machine A this many times, then go onto machine B and do Y for this long and go back to machine A and do XYZ this many times!" or something like that.

    Any help is appreciated.

    One thing I'd suggest is checking that gym out around the time you plan to actually use it. So if you plan to use it each evening after work, take a trip down and see how busy it is. That might affect your workout programme slightly. It can be frustrating waiting around to use machines, especially when they are limited.

    You can make a start using the stuff there. Concentrate on things like the leg press and the lat pull down and tricep pressdown for now. See if you can get the managers to buy a basic bench and a few dumbbells, and then you can do bench press, flies, shoulder press, bent over rows, pullovers, lunges, even deadlifts and stiff leg deadlifts.

    I've very wary of machines for things like flies, as they can lock you into a bad range of motion and cause injury. Once you have some free weights, you can do a lot more in a natural range of motion.
