I want to do Music in college,where should I go?

    hey,I really want to do music in college but i don't know if id have the requirements and if i do,what college should i go to to learn music?

    im just after finishing the grade 5 practical exam for the trumpet set by the irish academy of music

    im only grade 2 theory by the irish academy

    and im doing higher lever music for my leaving cert and i think il manage to get a B3 atleast

    also,is there any PLC's i could do if i dont get points to do a music course?..

    if anybody could give me a list of music courses and other important details associated with them it'd be greatly appreciated

    A few people i know are doing Music in UCC, they all seem to love it.

    look up the various colleges and their courses, pick th eone that best suits you

    I'd second Maynooth. If you're into composition, there's a relatively new composition-course in the RIAM.


    Btw, this thread would get a lot more replies in the Leaving Cert forum; there's a lot of people there who know the good and the bad of the different music courses.

    Cork School of Music. It sparkles. Very hard to get in though.
