Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

We're thinking of checking the wax museum out tomorrow, is it worth going?

Might be too late but we went and thought it was rubbish.

i've heard it's embarassingly bad too

It's not too bad but it's not amazing either. I found it better than the National Gallery/Museum though but that's just me.

God that's a pity after reopening it in a nice location and with some fanfare you'd think it would be up to scratch.

Ah it's worth heading along to see the names printed on copier paper :D

lol thanks guys, bit late alright, we went on Sunday and it's pretty rubbish alright. Kind of embarrassing really how bad it is, I felt sorry for the tourists there with us. They need to get way more figures in to make it decent. I know wax figures are really expensive but it's all or nothing, they should either do it really well or not well at all.

Wouldn't be in a hurry to recommend it anyway.

I never got the point of these. I must have the "like wax museum" part of my brain missing, I find them utterly pointless.

There are tunnels in the childrens section.

I'm still looking at the photos I took on Saturday and laughing:

Some of the figures are so bad....and so old.

god it looks bad, not fair to inflict this on tourists really

    I went on Saturday evening.
As far as I could gather, their ideal market was Tourists and Children. I'm not entirely confident as to where I fit in...

Anyway to agree with the other comments it is woefully, embarrassingly bad. However, it almost became the kind of "so bad it's funny" sorta attraction. Perhaps it is good if you have absolutely nothing else to do and are up for a relatively cheap laugh.

Oh and extra brownie points for the godawful Hannibal Lecter voice overs :pac:

€10. They know they couldn't charge anymore than that. Even the Receptionist looked embarrassed when she took the money. Definitely so bad it's funny though, we spent the whole hour (doesn't take much longer than that) laughing.

I think we got around it in 20 minutes.....I'm still laughing, don't think I'll ever recover. :D

Went today, its ok, the figures are the worst part!! Theres only one tunnel and its nowhere near as good as the old ones!!

But the best part by a mile has to be the blue room upstairs, i dont want to give too much away becuase its worth going for that alone but i will say two words....Billy Jean ;)

Yep - there's one tunnel in the childrens' area. I'd recommend it - there are a few places in the top that you can poke your head through and the third one is full of mirrors which is pretty cool.
Other than that there's a studio where you can record yourself singing some "popular music" - "pop" music they call it. You can choose from such classics as Girls Just Wanna Have Fun, Nine to Five, and the like.
Actually, it will give you a laugh.
Not as much as a laugh as Ian Paisley though...
Also, when you go into the Northern Ireland room, there's a small window blocked by a couch. If you lean over the couch and look through the window you'll find an upside down wax chicken.
Almost worth going just for that!
