Since streams have been posted in several threads before I figured I'd start this to consolidate them all as they're happening.

    Tonight (if anyone's still up):
I'll be streaming the RTSD and the House of Cicada Present The Specialists tonight.

    PLAYER LIST
    CaliPower
    UltraDavid
    ShadyK
    Yeb
    Keno
    Shizza
    Gootecks.com
    and more

    SPECIALISTS FORMAT:

Players will play a first to 5 games set series.
    Best 4/7 set series
The Player who wins the first to 5 set will be awarded 1 point
Player to score 4 points wins the match

we are planning to be streaming all night long tonight.

    Srk thread: http://forums.shoryuken.com/showthread.php?t=213276

edit: Lol at yeb messing around in training mode, 72 hit combo with Gen with infinite meter. :pac:

ah this is still on , cool. calipower is Alex Valle , I know that much, and obviously gootecks.com is gootecks (what a sap putting the .com in your name)

Really good stream although the sound is slightly off.

    gooteck$.com

Poor guy hasn't won any tourneys lately IIRC, so he needs to get people to his site somehow.

Tonight at 10-ish if my calculations are correct (they could be wronnnnnng)

No details yet as to who's fighting from FADC.com... although again I am hung over and could be missing the obvious.

Yeah the commentary after the first chip was hilarious... "thats it! Realist wins!"

  • Moderators Posts: 8,678 ✭✭✭D4RK ONION

Yeah, watchin' it here, the stare out was brilliant. Did you see (dandai) Ken vs Blanka (realist?), that was very funny, these commentators are brilliant! Hahaha, he's singing "I want it that way!" hahaha

when I watch tourneys at this level, its hard not to think I could beat half of these fellows. Some of their execution is shocking.:pac:

  • Moderators Posts: 8,678 ✭✭✭D4RK ONION

I've seen your replay in SF4 anyway Kirby, pretty sure you could too!

There's a huge difference between the top tier there and the rest....

  • Moderators Posts: 8,678 ✭✭✭D4RK ONION

RANDOM SUPER, RANDOM SUPER, RANDOM EX ULTRA AT LEAST, haha.

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 25,872 Mod ✭✭✭✭Doctor DooM

I hate when counter picking works.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,084 ✭✭✭✭Kirby

Don't have a problem with counter picking. Part of the game. You can't dictate who your opponent picks. You are like me doom. We only really play one character. But If somebody bisons or chun li's me, I have no problem with it. It makes strategic sense.

I've go no problem with it per se- I just like seeing people succeed without doing it. No logic to it, just like underdog victories :)

Great final, it's always good to see a skilful Ken.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,084 ✭✭✭✭Kirby

    Indeed. Impressive Ken.

Sagat is such bullcrap. He really is. If they don't balance him properly for super.....I might just join terry and start maining him. It's just so easy. Effortless to win with him as he is at the moment.

  • Moderators Posts: 5,580 ✭✭✭Azza

His balance isn't that bad as the top tier character compared to other SF games, but he is clearly top of the pops.

Doesn't have any 8:2 match ups or the like but had 4 or 5 7:3. Mostly 6:4's which are that bad.

More than nerfing him buff everyone to his level.

Don't agree with this. The rest of the cast have weaknesses. He doesn't. He has good Health. He does good damage. His short game is good. His long game is good. His zoning game is good. His air game is good. He has damaging combo's. He can combo into Ultra. His Ultra does good damage. The list goes on......

As I said, if you pick any other member of the cast you can find a couple of big flaws in their design.....intentionally to balance them.

The only thing they did was give him a slow walk speed, but that doesn't matter when you can tiger knee yourself safely accross the screen.....and have a Fierce Kick that controls half the screen.

Also, looking at that list.....you could apply it all to Ryu too. The only saving grace there is that Ryu has less health.

Don't get me wrong. I enjoy fighting against sagat as sim because its fun. Its challenging. But the dude is broken. Even Capcom admitted that.

  • Moderators Posts: 5,580 ✭✭✭Azza

I'm not against nerfing him a small bit, but it would be unfair on the players who play him currently to nerf him drasitcally. If they got rid of juggle properties off forward +roundhouse and made his tiger knees less safe, I would settle for that. But more interested in buffs for the lower and mid tier characters.

The entire cast is being tweaked, so we will have to wait and see what they do.

    NorCal regionals: http://www.ustream.tv/channel/iplaywinner

    Digital Mayhem (East Coast): http://www.ustream.tv/channel/fadc-live

Both live atm. I'm watching the FADC stream as it seems better quality.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,810 ✭✭✭✭K.O.Kiki

Well of course it's better quality.
    They're EC players.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,229 ✭✭✭Dreddybajs

Haha, I meant the video quality but yeah... :pac:

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,084 ✭✭✭✭Kirby

Some dude nmaed Illiterate picked Dan against filipinoChamp and took a round off him. I love dhalsim players but filipino was taunting and taking the piss so it was brilliant when the dan player got him in the corner and beasted him. :D

Yup, as was also shown by Marn earlier in the year.

Which is weird, since Ryu SHOULD beat Rufus 6-7 out of 10.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 599 ✭✭✭FoamyMushroom

Valle out of 5 beat him in only one round, Plus valle was commin from losers... :(

Winner got a Akuma Statue only 20 in the world, MVC2 Custom Arcade stick, Vinal of some game sound track, and the prize money which I dunno how much it was xD

    Lucky bastard..

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,229 ✭✭✭Dreddybajs

Ricky Ortiz is brilliant, haven't seen that much of him in SF4 but he's always been quality in 3S.

Their prize money was about the same as ours believe it or not. Obviously the stick and statue went with it too.

Surely they got a much better turn out than ours?

They tend to have much higher turnouts but lower entry costs (they also have singles/teams tourneys, and tournaments in a lot of other games generally).

Ye it was a tenner per game. Ricky won 3 tournaments so id say he got a decent bit of money.

This is not actually a stream but good vids nonetheless.

Watching Mago (Sagat) vs. Infiltration (Akuma) almost makes me wanna give up sagat!

Yeah, the power of swedish internet. Don't underestimate it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,810 ✭✭✭✭K.O.Kiki

    LOL.
I put on the stream during a "riveting" Dhalsim mirror match.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,081 ✭✭✭✭chopperbyrne

    That match confused me.

Maybe I miscounted, but to me the guy who "won" only appeared to tie it at 2-2 when he stood up.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,081 ✭✭✭✭chopperbyrne

Ryan Hart and his fairly aggressive Sagat win the tournament.

Absolute class match that one, loved seeing Infiltration bait the reversal DP from Mago. Great show by both players.
