I thought it was a prerequisite to having an iphone in the first place

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 18,163 ✭✭✭✭Liam Byrne

It's a nice bit of kit, but it's completely overpriced and the fact that they did an exclusive deal with one operator is another turn-off.

Wonder if the same percentages would apply in this country ?

Someone owning one isn't an issue for me; them looking down on people that don't shows serious asshole-ness, though!

Didn't most people get sick of playing with crappy apps on their phones about 6 years ago? All I use my phone for is calls, texts and setting an alarm to wake me up and to tell me my chicken is cooked. In fact I kinda want this bad boy.

Calls, texts and an alarm? What are you, some sort of aristocrat?

Back in my day, we had no phones, and we used to walk 15 miles in the snow to say "LOL" to each other.

They should have just said all apple users are **** and morons.

I mean what kind of idiot would pay for an overpriced pc containing last year's technology just because Steve Jobs says it's cool....
lol..you just gotta laugh at them.:D

The elitism is was created by nobs who bought the iPhone and thought it was something special.

I bought one a couple of months back, not because it was an iPhone and I wanted to appear trendy but because its a nice device that does everything I need.

I also got a Macbook Pro yesterday because I'm sick of Windoze and I'm not going to sit around in Starbucks with it looking like a ponce.

I hated the fact that you basically had to kow-tow to O2 and practically prove yourself worthy to have one.

Have an iPhone? You're not special, you just have a small device.

I have a Macbook Pro because I use it to run software that isn't PC compatible.

I am actually a complete w*nker but for wholly different reasons.

I don't have an iPod let alone an iPhone. What does the 'i' stand for anyways?

Sorry to bust yr bubble, but the truth is that 25% of NON iPhone users are w*nkers too, meaning you dont need to be an iphone user to be a w*nker, but I soppose it might help if one was.................so please do not be a iphonist

Yeah, my Dad bought a Macbook Pro and I have to admit it's a very nice piece of kit. Simply, light, does the job.
When you're working in I.T. for years and years, you kinda lose interest in personal technology.

I think the i stands for Ives (Jonathan Ives, the genius who replaced Steve Wosniak. Boy that Steve Jobs can spot IT talent like Arsene Wenger can spot footballers.)

Funnily enough OP, he was quoted in a recent article saying 75% of iPhone users were in denial.

I'm working in IT supporting Windows clients for 10 years now, I find it boring at this stage. MAC OS is great as I'm starting from the beginning again and I have loads to keep me interested.

I use an iPhone and own a mac. I would be far from a trendy tosser. I've had other high end handsets buy iPhone did best what I wanted it to do. This reminds me of the iPod hate about 3 years ago, yet most people have them now.

In regards to macs, once you go mac, you don't go back :D

Anyone who owns apple products and thinks Steve Jobs is some kind of godlike figure is a wanker full stop. 'Oh im so cool im sticking the finger to micro$oft by using apple, doesnt matter that its underpowered has a lack of software compatibility and doesnt play games cause IT DOESNT GET VIRUSES'

    Daft buggers!
I know and deal with the nicest of people (a lot of who are multi-millionaires) who don't bother rushing to upgrade to the latest fad.
If someone is too superficial to see the real person and just judge them on what they have that's old by their laughable standard, they are the sort of people I'd (and I suspect, my friends) want to avoid anyway.

    Their loss!

Exactly right, tons of people will have them and we'll be rid of this reverse elitism. My mate called the iPhone "overrated" the other night but has never actually used one - how does that make a jot of sense  I use it for calls, texts, email, facebook, twitter and using the web, haven't known anyone that bought one that didn't love it.

ps. that poll is retarded, would love playing megadrive with a girl

+1 Lots of people on Vodafone want to get one but due to irrational VodaFone fanboy loyalty are bitter that they can't get their hands on one, so until they are available in a few months they bitch about them, and will be queuing up for one on launch day.

Oh and it's probably the only phone that is capable of surfing pron sites properly, unless the pron sites have mobile versions for the owners of Nokias.

Way over priced, locked to a single operator and requires charging every single day ... wtf??

I love the machine itself, in terms of its useability and the slickness of its design, I just cant get past those three things.

In the new year when its freedom from its manufactured (manufacturer's) monopoly, and subsequently the price drops (anyone remember PS3's selling for 650... now they are 299) yeah... then I'll probably pick one up and live with the battery life.

Oh, and liking or disliking someone you dont know because of the IT they use is like doing the same over their skin colour or nationality. Pretty retarded.

    DeV.

The iPhone, when it was introduced by Jobs, was described as a great phone, a brilliant music player, and a fantastic internet/mobile computing device.

It is two of those. The phone aint so good. I see it as a great device though.

the only reason I dont have another phone ( and use an iPod Touch) is that I want one device only. O2 bugs me though.
