lennon is out now as well as modric.

dare i say the team should be : gomes, corluka, king, woodage, ekotto, bentley(groan), palacious, jenas, kranjcar, defoe, keane?

any other ideas? id play kranjcar on the right and bale on the left with crouch on instead of hands up keane but i dont think harry will do that

I'd like to see Hutton start at right full, I think he's been patient and deserves a chance.

apparently he was very good against everton in the carling cup. he offers more going foward so could be an option for home games. this one is a must win

I'd go with this too.. or even Naughton right midfield, anyone except Bentley is fine by me.

can't defend to save his life which is his primary job.

    think Arry will go with;

    gomes, corluka, dawson, woodgate, ekotto,
    bentley, palacious, jenas, kranjcar,
    defoe, crouch

Yeah, and Defoe. After our last two results this really is a must win game. Anything less than 3 points and I'll be hugely disappointed.

    I hope it'll be;

    Gomes
    Corluka - King - Dawson - Benny
    Kranjcer - Jenas - Wilson - Bale
    Defoe - Keane

He won't play them. he'll rest King and Robbie will be on the bench and on form he deserves to be.

    no way man

rest king for what?? there is an international break then.

yiddo your team picking is nearly as far fetched as your posts

the game is not on setanta ireland or any other chanel

man city v burnley is on setanta ireland

I apologise. Only changed to Man City v Burnley a few weeks back originally listed at start of the season.as for not being on other channels its available on several satellite channels.

btw that wasn't my team thats the team i think arry will pick. If twere up to me I'd have....

    keane
    keane, keane, keane, keane
    keane, keane, keane, keane
    keane and keane :D

The only change i would make to your team everdead is Woodgate instead of Dawson.otherwise it's ok.

I wouldnt even have Keane on the bench. He is past it and is keeping better players on the bench. If Harry had started the season with Pav and Defoe from the start and Crouch as an impact sub (to prevent long ball tactics from the get go) we would be in a better postion. I would reserve Keane and his impressions of an air traffic controller for cc games.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,661 ✭✭✭mickman

but what about all the times keane throws his arms in the air, isnt that helpful to the team :-)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 455 ✭✭Dave11

What happened to Modric??? Thought he was due back???

    Team for this weekend:

    Gomes

    Hutton
    King
    Woodgate
    Ekotto

    Krancjar
    Palacios
    Jenas
    Bale

    Keane
    Defoe

We gotta get Jamie back in January. I think he adds alot to the side and were missing him as that extra spark to bring on!!

I'd agree Keane should be on the bench at the monent and as you say he may be past his best but I'd still take him ahead of Pav and Crouch any day. A spell at the bench will reviltalise Robbie. He's always responded wel to being dropped and has come back stronger.

Agreed, RK may be passed his best form, but he's still more than capable of performing for us - despits the silly piece he did with the media last week ;)

If Lennon doesn't play, then I can see this game being a struggle, possibly even a draw.

Hope that Bent doesn't come back to haunt us.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,661 ✭✭✭mickman

2-1 to spurs i would say. jones is out for them and he would have given our defense problems. defoe and palacious for spurs, bent for them

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,057 ✭✭✭tippspur

    2-0 Defoe,Keane.

    COYS

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 222 ✭✭rpmcmurphy

Kranjcar really needs to start this and Jenas in place of HUdd. The fact i am even considering Jenas proves how litttle I think of the consistent underperformances of the HUdd. All eyes will b on Keane to see if he ups his game which has been terrible of late and doesnt warrant a place in the starting 11.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,951 ✭✭✭SuprSi

Yeah I've lost all faith in Hudd. He's now had his chances and unless he improves dramatically over the remainder of the season should be offloaded in the summer with a suitable replacement brought in. Jenas and Nikko if Lennon is not fit.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,661 ✭✭✭mickman

hudd, jenas, keane and palacious in midfield

    no width at all

Lucky to be still a goal up at half time, not playing well at all imo.Palacios putting passes astray all over the place,we have to buck up our ideas after the break or it's going to be another bad day.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,778 ✭✭✭✭Kold

Trying to find a stream for this is frustrating as hell.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,826 ✭✭✭Mr. Guappa

2-0, Hudd. Gomes saved a Bent penalty!

Quality play by Defoe holding up the ball and weighting the lay off.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 639 ✭✭✭Seillejet

Thats why we sold him :D:D:D:D

    Good man Gomes, redeemed himself!

Ah Darren. Hopefully this doesnt come back to haunt me.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 639 ✭✭✭Seillejet

    YES 2-0.

    In the bag Huddlestone.

    Backl on track lads.

This Saturday has been a football wet dream for me. Had Alexander first to score against City 25-1 and Young for Villa 9-1. Sweet as :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,057 ✭✭✭tippspur

Good result but a bad performance today, thank god Gomes was on top form.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,395 ✭✭✭Hatch99

    It's a funny old game.
Great for large spells v Stoke, beaten 1 zip.
Rubbish for large spells v Sunderland, and win 2 zip.

Delighted for Gomes. Blatant dive by Bent. Fair enough Gomes made it fairly easy for him but I don't know how the ref gave a penalty considering the excellent angle he had on the incident. We needed that result though. City drawing with Burnley makes it even better, now all we need is for Arsenal to lose to Wolves :pac:

Personaly thought it was a pen and probably a red card.

harry tried the diamond formation today and we were eaten alive for the first 60 mins. keane was taken off then and kranjcar went on and we reverted back to 4-4-2 and we came back into the game

gomes was outstanding, absolutely outstanding. king went off after 58 mins, anyone know why?

harry showed today that defoe and crouch are his top strikers i think. we have lennon and modrci back for next game so keane and huddlestone will drop to the bench. great 3 points

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,057 ✭✭✭tippspur

Just watched the penalty incident there again,a dive if ever i saw one,Bent was diving from the second he touched the ball.justice done imo.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,395 ✭✭✭Hatch99

    Crazy tactics today.
    No width at all.
I thought he was just accomodating the 3 strikers by playing them. Krancjar should have started, at least he'd give some sort of width even if he does like going inside. Playing keane defoe and crouch from the start will never work for me.
