    Hi all I am in first year in Sligo IT and I can not afford to live down there. I am wondering can I change college. I live near Athlone and could drive there it would be so handy. Any suggestions:confused:

    I think you would have to wait until next year to apply through cao again!And to get your college fee back I think you just missed it,the 31st Oct!You get half back before Febuary.

    I'd say it is much of a muchness.
    The cost of running a car, versus renting in Sligo. Which is relatively cheap.
    There are hardship funds available at colleges. Maybe you could try having a word with your student welfare officer?
    Call up the head of department for your course in Athlone, and see if a transfer is possible.

    Because the college will keep them.
    It might be good to talk to your own head of Dept in Sligo asap.
    To see what the storey is with that.

    If they aren't particularly approachable, I'd bring the student weldare officer from the students union with me.
