Depends. College mates I see every day but my mates at home I see them the odd time during the week and at weekends. Don't have very much time to see them with college work etc.

Well all of my mates are from School (there's literally no young people by my area) so everyday. And even my mates from school live 20miles away!

I see them (outside of school), every week or every fortnight. Costs a bloody fortune getting the train. This week was half term, saw at least one mate last Saturday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday :D

I see my college friends everyday but only see the lads back home every few weeks or so when we go out on the drink. I think it's better that way, really makes you appreicate those nights and everyone has loads of funny, sexy stories.

    A friend-making twin?
So you use him for all the tedious, awkward "getting to know you" stuff and you reap the popularity.
    That's handy. :pac:

It's true. He uses his superior social skills to get to know people, then I get to befriend them by just hanging out with him every one in a while. :pac:

    Oh right.
I just thought you might have been identical (and somewhat interchangeable in a social context) where people could've mistook you for him.
Thus making it easy for you after he did all the social "heavy lifting". :P :)

    I'm joking of course :)

Irish mates that I've grown up with and have know fore over 20 years, I see them once a year for about 2 weeks.
NZ mates I see a few times a week.

People mistake me for him all the time, even though we're not idetical. Some times they ignore me when I correct them and I have to go along with it. :pac:

the older I get the longer the intervals between meetings

I think my inner circle of friends and I all depress each other...our interests have all diverged since school and college

Well, I emigrated so it's been 18 months but I'm going home for a visit next Easter so we can fit 2 years of stuff in there.

My NZ mates, I see most weekends. During the week I'm a recluse.

Work mates - I see at work.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,331 ✭✭✭✭bronte

Weekly. I need to see family more though :(

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 8,493 ✭✭✭DazMarz

Friends that actually matter to me: I make more of an effort to see them and I usually see them a lot.

''Friends'' you make casually (in college for example) mean far less to me, so only when I'm bothered really!

Probably makes me sound like a horribly cynical person, but that's just how I feel!:o

my irish mates, ill probably see once every five or so years...

my kiwi mates, well, mates in nz, varies from every month or so, to a couple of times a week, to every day, depending on the mate. specially now, one of the chicks i surf with, i keep my board at her place and see her about every day.

About once every two years, except one friend I see on average once a week. Unless you count people whose offspring commingle with your own as 'mates'.

Now and then I suppose if I have to be exact about it.

Maybe 3-4 times during the week and at least once over the weekend. We all bought houses quite close to each other so its handy to drop in for a chat/gossip/drink.

I don't see much of my mates anymore, since we all got married and started having kids.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,964 ✭✭✭ToniTuddle

    New College mates see everyday.
Old college mates will soon see when I move into town properly.
2 main Childhood friends - ones moving to England for new job and boyfriend, so God knows when I will see her and as for my other main best friend.....fell out with her 2 weeks ago and we are no longer speaking as far as I can tell:(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,110 ✭✭✭Aodan83

Friends from college every day. Assuming I actually go to college. Or they go to college. Wouldn't see my friends from school and that as often, 3 or 4 times a week would be a lot like.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,692 ✭✭✭Dublin_Gunner

Considering I live with the missus, and work, I don;t really get to see my mates too often.

Usually meet up with some maybe twice a month, whenever I have time.

I play football too, so that sort of eats into a bit of time - can't be spending al of my time away from the OH!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 22,058 ✭✭✭✭Abi

I'd see them once or twice a month, I can't be arsed seeing them more often than that. College friends most days at college, but rarely outside of that for the same reason.

it depends on wha age u are i would say-the younger u are,the more u see ur friends i would think

I have different groups of friends, so, it depends.

Obviously, I see the ones who live abroad a lot less regularly than the ones who live in Cork or the ones who I'm in college with.

I see my college pals pretty much every day, I'd see the others every few weeks.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,962 ✭✭✭jumpguy

I go to school so I see most of my friends there. Have a few in my area then, and then there's a few I'd see only on weekend.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 11,613 ✭✭✭✭Clare Bear

Depends. I have different groups of friends. Best friends maybe once a week, once every 2 weeks. College friends once every month/2 months. Friends from home in Cork every few months but we talk online all the time. Other friends depends what's on like birthdays etc. Just depends on a lot of things really. I don't work or live near the majority of my friends anymore so I don't get to pop around to them in the evening or anything like I used to. I miss that definitely, just being able to call in to say hi. We have to make plans to see eachother now. Good friendships last regardless of how often you get to see eachother though.

I usually see em at the weekend at least once, and perhaps once during the week (different friends).

There should be a 3\4 times a week option, that'd be me. Once or twice at the weekend, then once or twice during the week.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 170 ✭✭rmchmufc

meet my friends on the weekends only.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,067 ✭✭✭✭fryup

all my friends are on facebook, so i never get to see them:cool:

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,547 ✭✭✭Agricola

There should be a once a month option. Alot of my friends have got all respectable with their mortgages n 2.4 kids n such. So i dont see my oldest friends (the ones i really give a **** about) as often as id like.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,768 ✭✭✭almostnever

I went for "I have no friends" because I hardly ever see any of my close friends. Except for one,and she is repeating with me but I still hardly ever see her or speak to her. And my best friend,I only see her maybe once or twice a year :(

2 or 3 days a week depends really.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 539 ✭✭✭piby

It depends, a lot of them live quite near me so it's more to do with having free time/ similar time off from college, work etc. I'd say though I still mange to see my best mates 2-3 times a week and the others at least a couple of times a month.
