Getting youtube videos removed

Does anybody know how I would go about getting a video containing images of myself and colleagues removed from youtube?? Im literally only after discovering it and im gona have a chat with the S I/C tomorow unless i can get it removed fairly sharply...??

Just post it here and one of the mods will remove it for you.

afaik, once its on, its on. YouTube wont delete it unless it violates their charter. (i.e. showing something illegal, etc) Other than that, the creator has to take it down.

Unfortunately, theres vidoes of dozens of mules on it who'd love to get them off.

I would hazzard if enough people reported it for abuse, make it up, youtube will remove. Worth a try.

Send a email to youtube. There very busy people but they will get back to you at some stage and explain why u want it off.


But unless your doing something you should not be doing you really have little hope

Its a quite bad habit of mine, i go on youtube every few days and check garda videos that were uploaded during the week.

I don't think you will be able to remove the video because it was filmed in a public place, the guy doing the filming wasn't interfering with your work and it's not illegal.

Also, I don't mean to act the smart arse but you've just shoot yourself in the foot by posting the video here. You've drawn attention to it and some people will now download it, so if it is removed, they'll just upload it again.

Threaten a lawsuit - worked for me - otherwise it will stay. just mention how your uncomfortable wit the video . Ask them nicely to take it down first, but it nada happends, threaten the lawsuit - it will be taken down in 2 days max

After seeing that video , i wouldnt bother me arse, they'll laugh at you. Its only a brief walkby, wouldnt worry too much about it

Why should it be removed? Any professional police officer should have no problem being filmed.

If you contact youtube and tell them your a Garda and the incident was part of an ongoing investigation(whos to say its not) and it would be harmful to have it displayed most likely they'll remove it, be sure to give your name/id number/station number so they know your not just trying it on and pretending to be a Garda.

To be honest I dont think this thread is going to amount to anything. O/P you have a few good answers so try them.

My own opinion is there is nothing to be ashamed of in the video so why bother.....
