I don't. I don't see the point - if you're going to get back into it in 16 hours, why bother making it, just to mess it up again.

However, all my friends say that it looks 'slob'-ish not to do so

I believe the correct term is "making your bed".

I do but I have very little space in my room so when I'm not sleeping on it, I use it as a work bench of sorts for computers and such. The flatter the better and the less places to lose stuff the better.

But I'm sure this will be one of the weirder reasons..

I'm obsessive about it. I got my flat decorated a few years ago and since then i'm a neat freak. I'll even make it if i'm late for work.

Funny thing is i'm really filthy. I never hoover or polish or anything like that, but really neat. A place for everything and everything in it's place! Including the duvet!

Of course. Why, just this morning, I dressed mine in a fetching pair of corduroys and dress shoes.

I don't see the point in dressing myself in the morning, I mean I'm going to be putting on my PJs again in 16 hours, what's the point?

I think the term is 'you can't walk around naked cos you'll get arrested'.

I make my bed every day, doesn't look right otherwise.

Didn't actually know what was meant by the expression dress the bed , never heard that before.

The extend of making the bed for me is shaking out the quilt and laying it nicely on the bed.

Can't stand it when people have oodles of fancy pillows all over the bloody bed

In my warped mind, dressing the bed means having a fap in it before you get out of it and seeing how much you can spread it before it runs out.

Like salad dressing if you will.

Nothing is cuddlier than a freshly made bed- I always feel kind of stuffy getting into an unmade bed, like it needs a bit of airing beforehand! Also I hate wakinh up in the morning with the print of creased sheets all over my back and arms and sometimes face!

Being to lazy to wash the sheets - now there's the real issue!

I don't make it and my excuse is to kill the bed bugs. Not making it makes sure they freeze when i'm not there.

The 'missus', as you put it OP, does most of the time. Sometimes I do! It's always made, even if she's away for the weekend. Force of habit I guess?

My wife sometimes make the bed; I sometimes arrange the bedclothes haphazardly to approximate a surface impression of tidiness until it's time to climb in again.

Back home I have to, my Mother is a tad obsessive with my room being neat and tidy. In my house in Cork I very rarely do.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 853 ✭✭✭Idjit

    The missus dresses the bed
No, I don't. Because its actually less hygenic than making it. Think about all those dead skin cells, maybe bits of hair and then the bed bugs...Then you're throwing a lovely warm blanket over the lot for the day, therefore assisting in the multiplication of bedbugs and the bacteria in your own cells....Disgusting. think you'd be LESS of a slob for not making your bed.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 14,949 ✭✭✭✭IvyTheTerrible

    Duvets FTW!

Just pull it over the bed and it looks tidy.
