    XBoxSkyPlayer1_thumb3.jpg

This'll be useful when Sky Player finally launches (hopefully later today)..

Courtesy of Fingleberries over at the Xbox forum:
On the XBox site, it is giving a 'offer code' for three months for the price of two if you aren't a sky subscriber.

    Code: XBOX3FOR2

They Also have a code for one month free multi-room if you don't have it already.
    Code: XBOX1MONTHFREE

    Link: http://www.xbox.com/en-IE/skyplayer/default.htm
ShaneU has confirmed the second code works.. unsure about the first one!

    I'd assume so.

i put in the first code and it works, i was thinking about getting it for the three months. with the code i can get the entertainment pack, sky sports 1&2 and sky movies 1&2 for €39.67 a month. after the 3 months its €59.50 a month

This might be a stupid question but where do you input the codes?

I've tried on https://skyplayer.sky.com/ under accounts and settings but it says the voucher isn't valid there.

It's being rolled out slowly.. some people have it, some people don't!

If you do indeed have it, it should be under 'Video Marketplace'

would this work in france? how is it checked? if i have a sky account in ireland and would it work for my folks to use in france?

Alright lads, bit of a problem.

I tried getting in contact with Sky and my phone number apparently was not correct even though I entered it in about 200 variations.

I wanna get it for my XBOX and I have the 3 for 2 month deal thing. I wanna get it for 3 months, thats it. I dont want a 12 month contract or anything like that. I would just prefer it to be the 3 months and at 22 quid for standard channels and movies with that deal, I am pretty happy.

Can anyone tell me how long the minimum contract is, and what I do once the 3 months are up to get the hell outta contract.

I have tried everywhere for info so hopefully someone here can gimme a hand.

    Cheers.

Just wondering does streaming Sky content via XBOX 360 count in the download/upload limit from your ISP provider

If it comes in via your broadband it counts.

Sky Player on your 360 does not work on a contract basis like Sky TV. it works like your LIVE subscription. Every mth your service will get renewed automatically, but if you are not happy with it or you would like to stop using the service because of lack of funds or whatever you can stop using it at anytime... I think from the 6th of November, you will be able to get pre paid cards for your Sky subs. check the below link.

Sky Sports Entertainment Pack (Xbox 360)

    Hope this helps!

Haloma, could you help me figure something out? I have an Xbox with gold sub, and I have a sky package (though not multiroom). Do I have to pay extra and if so how much? Sky website is very unclear and can't get through to the right customer care.:o

if you don't have the multi room or the Sky Broadband, you will need to pay for it. sorry.

prices vary from what packages you use. for everything thats available on the Sky Player it's just under €60 mthly.

    That was helpfull....

If one was to buy this subscription could you log in on a laptop with it or use the PS3 to login and watch it. For anyone who doesn't already know All web Players already work on the PS3. i.e RTE PLAYER, SKY PLAYER, all the P2P links and if you had an IP in the uk BCC iPlayer etc.

not 100% sure mate.. as Microsoft and SKY have a deal in place... you will need to contact Sky themselves

    Nope! It's not a web app it's a download to the 360.

Ouch expensive. Thanks for the response, I'll avoid this one I think. Typical Sky can never give something back, another racket that will eat up your broadband download limit (if you have one).

Have they multi-room? If so, yes (you'd link your Xbox to the registration made using their account number on Sky.com).

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 594 ✭✭✭Dazzy

I've signed up for this. I didn't have sky and went for just the Entertainment pack at half price for the first three months with the 3 for 2 code.
Have to say that I'm not very impressed with the channels you get. I think there are 15 channels in total. No RTE, BBC, ITV or CH4 included in this. In fact some of the programs are sometimes blocked depending on rights sky have to the program.

No multi room set up, but i might just pop them a few quid and get multi room and then its free/cheaper sky sports for me , yeah ?

If they get multi-room and they have the Sky Sports package.. then it's free for you.

If you have it and arent using it, you could probably rent it out to someone for say 5 euro a month and if they dont pay you can just delete them from the registered computer list and change the password.

has anyone tried using a friends sky id account from a different house? it works alright i got the channels fine, but is there anyway sky can know its being used in my house with no subscription payed rather than my friends house. it just comes up that its being used on an xbox on his account online, i just dont want it to be traced to me in case it gets him in trouble with sky if i use it.

Game (the Store) is sellng 1mth sky, 3 mths xbox live and a xbox remote for €19.99

When you put in the voucher for sky you need to give a credit card details and if you dont cancel within the month then its auto renewed, Doubt you would be able to use the same CC over and over but if you have any Old 3V vouchers hanging around you might be able to use them
