I currently go out drinking most weekends and have a few during the week so drink roughly 25-30 pints on average a week, mainly socially. But now i have to go on tablets for 3 months where i have to cut down on drink so im considering giving it up totally. Im just wondering about whether giving it up will help lose weight. Well more so if i give up the drink for 3 months and lose some weight, will i pile it back on if start drinking again reguraly in 3 months time.

Depending on what pints you're drinking there's around 170kcal in a pint, so if you cut out the amount you're drinking and don't replace it with other calories then yes, you'll most likely lose weight.
If after 3 months of not drinking you actually want to go back to the amount you're drinking now

Cutting out alcohol would definitely reduce fat for me.Its the direct calories from Alcohol and indirectly through the mandatory stop off at the chipper a smoked cod n batter with chips.
Even if i eat a full dinner then drink, the alcohol lowers the blood sugars so id be starving again not too long after.
Also, your not going to be hungover so can train more ,you wont have off days due to drink.
But have I /will i give up drink?Nope..just try and balance everything out
