    I prefered Tetris!

Yeah tetris for me. Pac-man always felt repetitive after a while. At least with Tetris it's a bit more random.

Tetris without a shadow of a doubt!

Pac Man is a little before my time so it's not a craze I ever caught on to.

Tetris on the other hand defined the Gameboy. I can remember the first time I played that in 3rd class. Queue a lifelong addiction worse than crack.

So yes, Tetris it is for me too!

Aw come on! There has to be some Pac-Man lovers out there! Pac-Man is way before my time too but, imo, it's far better than Tetris

    It has to be Tetris.

I remember scoring huuuuge in Tetris on the Gameboy back when it was only two colours. Never been able to repeat that score since (sad face). Even the theme song is awesome. There was some crap dance remix of it wasn't there though

I don't think the 2 games can be compared, but I prefer Puckman on the arcade over Tetris
Tetris on the Gameboy is brilliant

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,183 ✭✭✭✭Atavan-Halen

Nah, they're not really similar at all, just wanted peoples opinions

Tetris Tetris Tetris. Remember getting a gameboy for my 6th birthday back in '91 or so, been addicted to the damn game ever since!

I've only come to like tetris really since Tetris DS. I play more Tetris these days for sure than Pac-Man but still have a soft spot for Pac-Man so he gets my vote.

Ah has to be Pac Man.
The only port of Tetris I liked was the Tengen one on the NES (the one that was withdrawn from sale almost immediately).
The updated versions of it have basically been flogging a dead horse , with pretty much the same thing over and over
Love Pac Man , its Iconic (how many Tetris T-shirts have you seen?), its still a decent game , PLUS it spawned PacLand , one of the best platform Arcade games ever!

    + 1 for Pacland :pac:

Loved Tetris too but Pac was there first!

    Very important question.

I need some time to think about this one.

    !

Tengen Tetris has nothing on Megadrive Tetris! Think there are only 10 known copies in the world.

Tetris Blast for the Gameboy, oh god it's so good.

The music is genius, some of the best game music ever imho.

Tetris blast! Ah man, thanks for reminding me of that game. I'd completely forgotten about it's existence. Was one of the best games on that multi cart thing I got with my Gameboy pocket. Highly addictive. Actually managed to improve on perfection.

    SILENCE!! PAC -MAN RULES

Yes Tetris is one of the most well known games of modern times but it wasn't as ground breaking as the original Pac Man. I also loved many of the later games like Pac Land (Below) and Pac- Mania :pac: :pac: :pac:

It's got to be tetris! It's the perfect game, different every time you play it. Conceptually simple, practically impossible.

    6th birthday?
I got one whilst in college, playing Super Mario Land during pathology lectures in Sligo General!
    Kids! Eh?

But, I too played Tetris to death, and still have the original Gameboy version virtually welded into the best console of all to play it on, the Gameboy Pocket, awesome!

That said, I have to say, Pacman wins my heart every time.
If there is a game I have to buy on every format I own, it Pacman.
I loved the version on the NeoGeo Pocket Color, lovely box, and a little ring to place around the 8 way microswitched joystick, so it was restricted to 4 directions only during Pacman, avoiding any embarrassing situations!

A wonderful game, along with Space Invaders and Donkey Kong, the true heralds for the videogame heaven we all now inhabit, fantastic.

Tetris by a massive margin. Eptimises everything that is great about videogames. Simple concept, unbelievably addictive gameplay.

Interesting Poll results so far.... I still think that pac-man is far more memorable. Maybe it's an age thing or the fact that everyone who owned a gameboy had tetris!

The very first game I played in my own living room was Pacman on a borrowed ZX81. It was plugged into the only telly in the house, in the front room and for that reason was a real family affair for about a week. So Pacman gets it for me.

Didn't you just hate when the novelty wore off for the rest of the family though?

'Turn that off! I want to watch Coronation Street!' /reaches for the off switch.

    'No!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!'
