Shame there was no you tube in the seventies or eighties but not to worry. Anyway thought it would be great to catalogue some great Irish singles from the seventies onwards

To start off a clip I do have

Great choice of song. One of my ex teachers who is Pete Holidai from the Radiators from space (+1 on that mention too) told me that the band didnt realise that everyone they mention in the song is a man until after it was recorded so they apparently went back and recorded another version with womens names!

Was gonna vote for Pet Lamb too but im gonna go with....................

Pete Holidai was your teacher. Cool. Try and get your hands on their album Ghosttown. Radiators were legendary (the brother was mad into them and i saw them when they reformed a few years ago)
Kitty Rickets another brilliant song.
Re the House, my favourite song of theirs would be Ill always be grateful but Endless Art is just inspired. David Couse does a radio show on Today FM on Sunday nights.
No airs and graces to him which I like. Loves his music

Yes saw them awhile pack. Chevron looked a bit under the weather I must say but seems to be soldiering on.
Think the base line a lot like that of Rat Trap by Boomtown Rats. Not sure which came out first but they both came out from the seventies.
Anyway to continue too great songs from one of the great bands of the seventies and early eighties.

Yeah Pete taught me in Ballyfermot College in Dublin. He has so many stories and from what i can gather they had a tough break. Apparently they sold enough singles to be on Top of the Pops and would have been Charted but their record company got taken over the very same week so all there singles didnt get counted!!!

I have both of the Radiators albums,they are so under rated but they should have been huge! I dont know and A house stuff,what would you recommend checking out?

On our big fat merry go round would probably be best known album by a house. Contains singles Call me Blue and Ill always be grateful.
Was released in 1988 which was also the year Stars of Heaven released Speak Slowly and Something Happens released "Been there, Seen that, Done that"

I knew the original bass player in the Radiators, Mark Hogan aka Mark Megaray. Wonder where he is now?

Yeah favourite Ash song would be Shining light. btw is lead singer from jj72 with a new band now. Heard him on Pat Kenny either last year or year before.

Yeah Mark from JJ72 is in a band called concerto for constantine. They supported the Smashing Pumpkins last year in the RDS.

You can begin and end your search for A House stuff with the wonderful 'I Am The Greatest'. A fantastic album.

Well Scotty is an adopted Irishman at this stage. Spent a lot of time in Galway if Im correct. And big Irish feel to their music. As for whole of the moon it has an epic feel to it but would not necessarily be my favourite song of theirs.
