Glad to see Williams on the bench. I think he could have been a match winner last week.

Ryan can feel a bit hard done by.
Good to see Ronan and Williams there , light enough in backs on the bench.

That would not have been said this time last year :D
If we can get a four try bonus point here and mabey a losing bonus point (hopefully a win :p) down in the south of France it will be a good result.

You know a BP win tomorrow coupled with Perpignan beating N'hampton would see Munster on top - or at least joint first.
Even though if the Saints beat Perpignan that could see them lose a bit of interest in the competition so ... long way to go

There isnt too much form to show that a BP win is anywhere near as being in the bag for us, Treviso will come to TP full of fire and brimstone and we have changes to our team once again for this match. Aw in is a must and a BOP win will be great but I wouldnt be counting our 5 points just yet.

Ive just put an bet on for Treviso to win. Just wondering if theres even a small chance? I mean they did beat Perpingan and Munster's scrum should be under serious pressure. Add to that Treviso are probably completely riled up to prove a point and will be confident after their victory over Perpingan and I think its certainly worth a punt!

If this happens it will surely be the biggest shock in European Cup History! Can't see it happening. Treviso will probably keep pace for first 50-60 minutes but see Munster pulling clear and winning with something to spare and possibly a bonus point to boot.

I agree, but anyone would have said the same about the Perpignan game.

I've heard a few Munster fans wringing their hands and trying to talk up Treviso (not here mind), but tbf, if Munster has any thoughts of winning the cup, they really should smash Treviso and be pushing for a BP as well. I'm not saying that's a certainty, could be anything but, but a team with aspirations of winning a HEC need to be performing in every match, especially after losing the first one. Treviso had a good night against Perpignan and Perignan a very bad night. No, I didn't see it, but the French T14 champions must've had a shocker against a team playing out of their skins for that to have happened.
Munster have been very poor since the HEC 1/4 last May and haven't found any sort of form as of yet. They are not playing as a cohesive unit and sometimes that's nearly all Munster had. Laurie Fisher has done nothing for the pack either. Need to see some form and ruthlessness later or this season could be over before it starts for them.

Any team that has aspirations of winning the HEC obvioulsy needs to be winning their games but no team has a devine right to smash another team, the result from Treviso last week shows that. I think it is a good thing for a team to have a healthy regard for their opponents.

We could do with a good win today, especially given the fact Northampton lost last night.

We could go top of the group today :)

It would have to be a poor Munster performance not to get the BP.

Treviso will do very well to stay within 20-25 points.

    Christ that's a woefull scrum.

Buckley should be no where near a international 22.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,249 ✭✭✭Stev_o

Treviso in for a try well deserved, ghost tackling. Come on the Italians (always want a underdog to win) !

Buckley should be no where near a Magners League 22.

    FMP. 5-0 Treviso.

Horan pulls his hamstring when trying to get across. That's the entire first choice Munster front row gone !

Buckley should be no where near a international 22.

If Buckley and Ross are the best replacements we have for Hayes at international level we are going to have a huge problem very soon.

The Sky commentary is dour, putting me to sleep.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 19,341 ✭✭✭✭Chucky the tree

How was that a 22? It looked like a clear 5 metre scrum for Munster.

Looked like he knocked it back over his own line, thought it would be a scrum.

Not really. Treviseo 1st try came from a position were munster had a 5m scrum on their own line and made a meal of it. The second was well taken but it was just a kick through. Outside of that they've been poor. Howlett looks to of done his hamstring.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,249 ✭✭✭Stev_o

    Howlett's hamstring gone.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,123 ✭✭✭Spore

Fair play to Howlett, his hamstring had gone and he still made the try saving cover. Dowling on for Howlett

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,958 ✭✭✭✭RuggieBear

    danger with the 5m scrum

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,415 ✭✭✭chupacabra

Yup but brilliant commitment by him if not a bit mad. Whens the last time we'v seen a penalty try from a scrum in TP?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 452 ✭✭Jimmyboss

the backs look like they've just met for the first time

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,958 ✭✭✭✭RuggieBear

    yep fair play to him
