    What did ya think?

I really enjoyed it I have to say, some tremendous lines from Jack and Tracey in particular ("if it's a blonde white woman I'm going to kill myself!!")

promising start to the season, hopefully they can maintain that pace for the rest of the episodes.

It'll be interesting to see how the new cast member changes the dynamic of the show too.

I'm gay for Kenneth, there I said it.

Ah no, I like the way they joked about forgetting Josh when they brought him back just for that episode, heh.

I LOVE 30 Rock TBH its right up there with Scrubs as my top two 22min shows. Jack simply has the best lines. I must get this now and report back in.

Jack gets better and better each season

Is Jon Hamm back this season at all? :o

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,906 ✭✭✭J-blk

Loved Jack's "welcome to season 4" bit at the camera right at the start and the bit about Leno right at the end :). Overall, not one of the best episodes ever, but still so many more funny moments than other comedies on right now. So good to have it back, it's been too long :).

Decent enough start to the season.

Tracy's attempts to get back to his roots were my favourite

"Would you like to hold hands with a black millionaire?" :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,829 ✭✭✭KerranJast

"Comrade Obama" and "Tell me what to do....Nixon". Genius. :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,776 ✭✭✭youngblood

What a Cracker! I love this show-hands down the
    funniest-show-I-never-watched till last year!

"Bonus means extra-I've learned that from game shows!"

"I'm in the middle of a ragin period.....of economic turmoil......

For anyone who has not checkout previous seasons..
    Get Cracking!

that line was hilarious! i was in stiches at it..

    i also liked the

"what sports does NBC have now?"
    "pre season tennis"

    line

looking forward to watching it again later

Yeah great show. It's been consistently funny for pretty much every episode since season 1

loads of good lines in this episode, loved:

"Pete and I are intercoursing each other"

    :D

i watched the second episode last night, and it was cracking stuff again. will arnett is golden. absolutely brilliant stuff. i loved tracey answering the phone in liz's apartment (Tracey and Liz's apartment, Tracey speaking)

didn't like jenna's werewolf sub plot though

i was half asleep watching it last night so i'm gonna have to watch it again later!

Not that impressed with the start of the season, the dealbreaker thing is not that funny and am I getting tired of Jenna but I have to say that the stuff with Jack and Devon Banks is comedy gold for example:

Devon: You know, revenge is a dish best served cold, Jack; like shashimi or pizza.
    Jack: You prefer cold pizza?
Devon: The morning after? It’s the best.
Jack: Better than hot pizza? That’s insane!
Devon: You don’t tell me what kind of pizza to like!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,158 ✭✭✭donmeister

Hopefully more Will Arnett, he is absolutely brilliant! I always thought he was going to be worked more into the script after season 2.

As said earlier less Jenna, she is just plain annoying at this stage! I wonder who will be the new cast member?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,906 ✭✭✭J-blk

Will Arnett is always great in this - loved the whole "Pom pom pom" bit promptly followed by the actual music... brainstorming for a new microwave leads to designing a Pontiac (?!), Tracy's revenge making Liz's life into a porno :D.

Though, Ireland is the gayest country in the world?!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,776 ✭✭✭youngblood

    I enjoyed it

Ireland being the Gayest country in the world is probably a dig at Jacks Irish roots
I thought Jennas storyline was funny-Filming a werewolf movie in a country with almost 24 hours sunshine, funny!

    DUM dum daaaa

Hilarious-Laugh at loud moment for me!

Whos gonna be the new cast member I wonder!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,776 ✭✭✭youngblood

    Hilarious Episode
Best Lines from Jenna- "No more making fun of me when I miuse dated cultural references...Ah we cowabunga on this?"

" I met JJ Abrams one, and I dont know what this means, but he said the island is just Hurleys' dream"

"Dont look at me like Im a football game"

    Classic

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 494 ✭✭muffinman

Jimmy Fallon's first guest being a dog who plays soccer and the phone call to betty white.. classic..

Also the schwupps and the gatoroon stuff.. HA!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,906 ✭✭✭J-blk

Great episode, firing on all cylinders...

The Betty White and Jimmy Fallon cameos were funny... as was Stone Mountain - a female Kenneth  :D, the Chuckle Hut, etc...

    - "The People's Gaypublic of Drugafornia", Jack about San Fransisco :).
    - "The folks who are teaching our kids, running our prisons, growing our cigarettes", Jack again, about small towns in America...

James Franco, The Golden Globe-winning actor will be guest starring on sitcom 30 Rock, a source tells Entertainment Weekly. His story line will play out in a romance with Jane Krakowski's character, Jenna. Though the liason will be fake, a stunt engineered by their publicists, Franco is said to be playing himself. He's scheduled to start filming this week, though NBC declined to confirm the rumor. Franco is already making television appearances with a recurring role on General Hospital.

    :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,829 ✭✭✭KerranJast

Good news. Franco is a funny guy as anyone who has seen his "Acting with James Franco" shorts will attest.

This season has been fantastic so far. They've really managed to silently keep the not-so-funny characters off the screen for as much as possible, and give the leads all the air time.

Jack as the disconnected fatcat republican, Kenneth as the small town middle American, Jenna as the fame hungry bimbo parody and Tracy as the... well the comic genius.

Everything that comes out of Tracys mouth is comic gold:

Tracy: Orange and black decorations? Is this Halloween, or Princeton parents' weekend? I don't know whether to be scared or proud of my cousin...
    Kenneth: It's Halloween, sir.
    Tracy: Proud it is.

kathy geiss' "I dreamed a dream" a la susan boyle had me in stitches

Currently playing catch-up after 3 failed attempts at finishing the first season! :D

Working through season 3 right now though.. tis superb!

Is it me or does Alec Baldwin just seem to get better and better? The scenes with himself and Will Arnett are absolutely hilarious!

Nope, it isn't only you - he does get better and better and for most people I'd guess, myself included, he makes the show. And any time they bring in Will Arnett, it's comedy gold :D.

    Best line between em

    Dum dum daaaa

followed by the actual Dum dum daaaa

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,426 ✭✭✭Roar

    "He's EVIL TRACY!?...

    Oh... he's evil comma Tracy..."

    Laugh? I nearly cried.

Too much Jenna in this episode though. She irritates me, and I don't really find her all that funny.

I'd rather there was more Cerie ;)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,776 ✭✭✭youngblood

    Enjoyed Evil Tracey joke

Likes Liz's opening Eye Roll to the camera as she said "presumin nothing will go wrong......."!

Sorry Jenna did have a good line- "its gonna be a disaster like katrina.....that crazy girl from hair and make-up!"

also "if you are a funny gay guy get into the car"-
"Im not gay but I'm bi-larious"-also made me chuckle!

I was surprised it was actually Scorsese providing his own voice on the answering machine.

Best line this week "he knows your special ......like a black stripper with blue eyes"

Dunno what I make of the new guy...could be good

    Liz'a agent....eh.......must try harder.....

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 44,200 ✭✭✭✭Basq

I thought the best bit was Liz Lemon's Chinese knock off book:

Liz Lemon = "Lesbian Yellow Sour Fruit"

    :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,426 ✭✭✭Roar

everytime i hear a canadian say "aboot" instead of about it makes me laugh, I don't know why..

would like to see a more tracy-centric episode soon, don't like that they've teamed him up with jenna recently..

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,776 ✭✭✭youngblood

    Tracey is hilarious
Many of his personal problems have incorporated into the show
    Including his alcoholism and diabetes

Tracey's film career is hilarious-Who Dat Ninja?/Honky Gandma be Trippin/A Blaffair to Rememblack

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,776 ✭✭✭youngblood

Another Hilarious Episode again this week

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,158 ✭✭✭donmeister

So happy to see Doctor Spaceman (pronounced spay-chem-in :D) is back. Laugh riot that fella!

"Now you do realise this is surgery, so I don't want you to eat anything, there will be dinner for you here!"

"Anyone else see that black kid in the corner!? Pweh."

Excellent episode-esp liked the HI-DEF camera-great laugh out loud moment

Some good one liners again from Jenna and Tracy

Elizabeth Banks is headed to 30 Rock to play the latest notch on Jack Donaghy’s belt she will appear in at least four episodes. This marks the second high-profile romance for Alec Baldwin’s corporate shill this season. This week, Julianne Moore kicks off a multi-episode arc as Jack’s high school crush.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,776 ✭✭✭youngblood

Thats great news Liz they've had some excellent guest stars
Isabella Rosellini, Jennifer Aniston, Oprah and Al gore have been my favourites-Although I have to say the guest list for season 3's finale was absolutely-Beastie Boys were v funny in the video at the end.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,426 ✭✭✭Roar

the latest episode has been the best of the season by a mile.. felt like the early episodes in a way.. many, many lol moments, and any time Dr Spaceman is on the screen it's just comedy gold..

what happened to the other cast member btw??

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,426 ✭✭✭Roar

"Does chewing on a sponge trick your brains hunger center, yes, yes"

    Kimiko--James Franco is amazin......

Gossip column are calling them James -Jenna And James

This series has so many fast one liners
I only get half of em on an initial viewing
thats why rewatchin em I get even more jokes

Before you worked here- were an Ass scientist??
cos you bla bla bla......... you get the point......

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,776 ✭✭✭youngblood

    Oh no

It seemed they used all the good material in the last 2 episodes
    V disappointing episode
Am tired of Julieanne Moore already
    Accent is bloody brutal
Need Gay Lemon back I think

30 Rock-you've let me down........... (insert sad boy face here)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,067 ✭✭✭L31mr0d

thought it was a pretty decent episode overall personally.

Probably because my work at the moment mirrors that January grumpiness.

I laughed so hard when Lutz picked Subway for lunch. We get free lunch at my job every friday, and there is always this 1 guy who tries to get us to eat at Subway, our reaction to his recommendation usually ends up being identical to the one in 30 Rock.

Funniest bit of the episode by far.. could also relate to it!

PS - I know one or two natives of Boston.. and Julianne's accent is pretty damn accurate. It's an annoying accent in general, even moreso on females.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 110 ✭✭Doctor Zaius

Newest episode certainly wasn't the best. I'm sure the accent is accurate and all but christ it really is grating.

Tracey was pretty funny though with his unexpected history knowledge.

    Go Bruins!!

Ah yes, we've entered that "magical" time of the year when US shows start taking random breaks at arbitrary times, just so all the season finales can land in May :(.
