Question about hands!

Right ladies, a bit of a strange one for ye!

Obviously we can buy antiperspirants to stop us sweating, which we spray, roll, rub etc under our arms to keep us fresh and dry. Is there such thing as an antiperspirant for hands? I know you can buy deodorant bars for all over the body but I need one to actually prevent my hands from sweating as I need to be able to grip onto something for a short while, on and off, without sliding off, asap.

I told ye it was an odd one.

    Any help appreciated. :)

    Talcum powder.

    Talcum powder.

Unfortunately it doesn't suit the purpose in this case. That's why I discounted deodorant bars in the OP! Thanks though :)

Why can't you roll/spray deoderant on your hands? I use it on my feet in summer.

you could probably use one of them really strong anti persperant deodorants you can get in the chemists?

    hmm would that work?

Maybe there's no real solution, was just hoping someone would have heard of some magical cream / spray that was specifically for hands in situations where a good grip is needed. Maybe not though.

I think gymnasts etc use powder as suggested by minidazzler. Maybe there's no other solution! But thanks anyway :)

    Chalk?
In gymnastics, rock-climbing, weight-lifting and tug of war, chalk—now usually magnesium carbonate—is applied to the hands to remove perspiration and reduce slipping.

well latex or nitrile gloves do wonders for grip.

But in your case I don't think it would be appropriate :pac:

Keep a tissue in your pocket op. I do this if I know i'll be shaking hands like at interviews. a simple suttle wipe and your done!

I'm intrigued too! I use climbing chalk when I lift to keep my hands bone dry (pick it up in the Great Outdoors for €3), but you can also get liquid chalk that goes on wet and dries in about 10 seconds, weeeeird stuff but very effective :)

an anti-perspirant spray should sort you out - boots make one specifically for feet, I'd try that one.

If you need a more permanent solution, there's always botox...

^ Don't think they really like to give botox for palm sweating. Doesn't work as well as the underarms, or something.

    Or there is this http://www.multipharmacy.com/shop/customer/product.php?productid=9887&cat=0&page=1

I need it for pole dancing but my teacher has helped us all out by telling us that as the routines get more complicated we can use some liquid stuff which I'm guessing is what g'em has mentioned above! Thank you gem! :)

Also, no.. botox isn't needed :p

    Thanks for the input guys!

    +1

I agree climbing chalk is brill espechilly for climbing the human spider man tacky stuff is great to is called liquid gold or something....

tho the liquid gold be warned could be to tacky for sliding on the pole. but the chalk would be good works so could when you've got like a bit of height below me so i say climbing chalk to

Apparently these gloves are the business for doing more daring moves! Also, the liquid chalk mentioned by gem is something my teacher has mentioned to us for the coming weeks.

Here's the site for anyone else with similar issues:
