Well here I am thinking about getting back into 40K... or not.

I used to collect (rather than actually play) a Squat then a Tyranid army. I enjoyed painging, and played one or two games, but never really got in with any clubs or societys. I have a couple of models I dusted off out of the attic and the old Rogue Trader rulebook.

Ive had my interest rekindled by the re-relase of Space Hulk. Obviously, I bought it and I'm loving the game and really enjoying painting the models again.

I have pretty much forgotton everything I ever knew, and am tempted to start up an army, but this time I want to actually play the game.

Are there any clubs/societys that are still active around North Co. Dublin with people of the older generation (I'm early 30's) ?

    Where should I start back?
What should I read up on before deciding on my army and where to invest my hard earned cash ?

    Thanks for your responses
    - Dan

Yep, there's 2 clubs that play in gamersworld.
Dublin Games Guild on wednesdays, and The Underground Gamers on Tuesday.

    Both pretty much exclusively adults.

There's also a good size club in Drogheda if thats handier. The Drogheda Gamers (google-able). They have a youngsters club time, and an older gamers club time. Dunno the numbers involved, but they seem very healthy.

Thanks for the replies, I might try and check out Gamers World this weekend.

What should I be looking at to pick up to start back in 40k, Assault on Black Reach ?
I think I also saw a post somewhere saying I could get this with double marines or double orcs, is this still possible ?
