Id be nothing without a "to do" list, many a time ive ventured into town and forgot what I needed to get and only remember upon returning home.
I use my ipod touch notepad, very handy.
In work I scrawl notes across my left hand

I have an obession with lists! I LOVE lists, I make lists for everything!
I've even been known to do them up in excel with little tick boxes :o
My husband takes the mick out of me for it - wonder why

And to reply to the opening post, yes, I do. I store all the bits and pieces I have to do during the week in my todo application in my phone. There's always something you'll forget even if you assign for it the most important exercise of the week.

    Me too! :D

I like hand-writing them though ... I make lists for everything, even hypothetical things that'll never happen! I feel calm if I have a 'to do' list in front of me.

    ... We're such weirdos!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,339 ✭✭✭me-skywalker

haha very weird indeed... what about a 't'done' list... like a list of everything you have done.

might make yourself feel some pride in yourself rather than just having hopes and dreams of maaybe achieving something than you know you more than likely wont. (thats very pessimistic)

but an average mundane 'To Do' list like.. 1- Buy bread 2 - Pick up new Biffy CD 3 - Eat fruit... thats not a very inspiring to do list really.

Yes! I have top 100 lists for almost everything, and actually invest a lot of time and consideration into the compilation of these lists (especially for things like top 100 books and albums).

I have an obsession with making lists too. www.rememberthemilk.com is a cool web app for making them.

Isnt it strange to consider that we have one of the earth's most powerful instruments between our ears and people still cant remember what they need to do for the day.

    It's the German for 'beard'.

My main list at the moment is a list of items I need to buy for my Hallowe'en costume.

If anyone knows where you can still buy those "wet-look" leggings, let me know :)

Only thing I want to do is visit at least one country on every continent.
Other than that - meh. No point in having a big long list when I could get hit by a bus tomorrow and not fulfill any of it.

You dont need a list for that do you? Presumably you'd remember you'd be leaving the country

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,711 ✭✭✭Hrududu

I'm useless at remembering things so if I don't have a list then something will be forgotten. The only problem is I put too much faith in the list. For instance if I'm going away I'll make a list of everything I need to pack. But I then assume that I've remembered to put everything on the list. The list is my king and I pack everything on it only to realise too late that I left something vital off it in the first place.

Yeah but if it's in list form then it makes it seem more urgent.

I found a neat app called JetTask (http://www.jettask.com/) that I use at work to keep track of all my tasks - it used to be $19.95 but is now free as they're developing a new version.

I know you were joking but I really have been meaning to do a to do list. I bring procrastination to a whole new level. I put off doing something that will help me remember to do the things I should be doing right now.

There in almost every clothes shop around, but the only place I found a nice good pair (with a proper waist and ones that dont look like shiny black plastic bags wrapped around your legs ) was in Awear for about €20 or €25.

My 'to do' list would be better described as a 'good intentions' list... never gets done. I usually lose it.

River Island, babezzz! ;) There are also maternity one's, they have a bump holder so you'd be able to wear 'em right up to under your arms! It'd be amazing, an all in one wet-look jumpsuit!!!!

On topic, I love making lists! I put wee post it's everywhere with things I need to do written on them. "Put petrol in car" is the latest, stuck on my bedroom wall! As if I'm going to go get into my car, see the petrol light on and forget because it wasn't on the list!

I tend to jot stuff down on pieces of paper which is why I keep a pad handy .Even by my bebside ,when reading a book and I come across a word I dont or might not fully understand ,I scribble it down till I can look it up .My back pocket is usually full with notes on reminders of stuff to do

what about a 't'done' list... like a list of everything you have done.

when i have a load of things to do, i start a "to do" list, but i start it with things i've already done, so that i can cross them off and feel some sense of achievement before i tackle the mammoth actual list

    I looooove lists.

I don't have a mouse pad. Instead I have a packet of expensive textured cream A4 card, and I use one sheet of it at a time as a mouse pad. As things come into my head, I write them down on the sheet - stuff I've to do, or to remember, or shopping lists, or appointments etc. As I do each thing, I cross it off the sheet, and I don't let myself go onto the next sheet until everything is crossed off. And that feeling when I cross off the last thing and scrunch the sheet up into a ball and bin it, and go onto a nice new clean sheet ... it's better than sex! :D (Nearly!!)

And then there's my wall planner, my calendar, my phone calendar, my diary, my excel spreadsheets, my study planners/lists ... I spend so much time organising, it's amazing I ever get anything done!

    It works for me though!
