Monk is ending this year as well, but it's not cancelled, it was always supposed to end after season 8.

Smallville was supposed to end this season but it looks as if they may stretch another one out of it.

I think it's too early to put this into the list - the creators have already said there might be a season 6 and if the show keeps performing, I very much doubt the CW will drop it. Just look at Smallville for crying out loud :).

To avoid confusion, maybe we should just list shows we know are definitely ending (as is the case with Lost) or canned.

ITV has axed Sunday night drama Kingdom, Stephen Fry has confirmed.

The show, which stars Fry in the titular role of lawyer Peter Kingdom, has been cancelled after a three-year run.

Writing on his blog, 52-year-old Fry said: "Sad news from TV-land. Well sad for me and for some others. It may well have you skipping about like a lamb on ketamine, trilling with joy.

"Our masters at ITV have decided that there shan't be a fourth series of the television drama Kingdom. I am sorry because it was such a pleasure making them in my beloved Norfolk."

He added: "I am lucky to live there much of the time - for the rest of the Kingdom cast and crew it will be a sad farewell that was never properly said. All things must pass. That is why we must be so grateful to Mnemosyne, the goddess of memory, and mother of the muses. Heigh ho. Onward and upward."

The third series of the rural drama ended its run in July with a strong audience of 4.84m (20.8%).

    If anyone cares

Shame. That show has been muck for years.

    Brotherhood

Brotherhood has been axed, shame really it was a great show with huge potential but the writers just couldn't make it happen with too many slow moving episodes. It was becoming the replacement of the Sopranos and had strong actors. Worth a watch again in a couple of years

Can we discuss shows in serious danger of getting the axe?....right now Melrose Place/Trauma/Mercy/Three Rivers are in serious danger!

    And good riddance...!

Melrose Place seems like formulaic muck that has done nothing but sully the good image of the decent (and entertaining) original.

Trauma / Mercy / Three Rivers have absolutely nothing unique about them whatsoever.. and medical dramas are a dime a dozen nowadays.

Trauma appeared to be an ER replacement at first.. but is full of unlikeable characters and a shoddy script hidden by quite a big budget (which will be it's downfall).

Mercy is "Grey's Anatomy-Lite" without Grey's Anatomy witty and clever writing of it's early seasons.

Three Rivers is just tired muck.. and I'm just sad to see the excellent Alfre Woodard wasted in this.

    Reaper is gone too

Not the best television but always looked forward to it on Sky+

I thought Reaper sucked tbh but I didn't expect to see it going so fast after it goe a new series! Oh well!

I think Dark Blue on TNT is a goner

I think MP 2.0 is safe especially now Locklear is coming back

A CBS spokesperson is confirming that the network has cut Numb3rs‘ episode order from 22 to 16. Translation: This is most likely the show’s final season.

    Trauma also cancelled

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,980 ✭✭✭wyrn

I'm quite annoyed that Reaper and The Unit have been cancelled.

There's way to many similar shows (i.e. all those medical shows). I've started watching Trauma and it's okish. Nancy is very very annoying - the kind that you'd love to slap some sense into and yell "GET OVER IT!". Actually there's very few characters (probably due to smaller budgets). TBH trauma is a carbon copy of other shows. It seems to be a trend - very few original and unique shows about.

I've been watching Trauma as well, it got a bit better after the 3rd episode.... Rabbit is still a prize pillock though.

Eastwick is gone (after the first 13 finish airing), and The Forgotten got an order for 5 new episodes, but is still on the bubble.

I think Dollhouse might be in a spot of trouble. It's been pulled from the schedule for the November Sweeps.

Yep, this is the end for Dollhouse.
The last episodes will be aired after sweeps in bunches of doubles.
    18. 2- 5 4 Dec 09 The Public Eye
     19. 2- 6 4 Dec 09 The Left Hand
     20. 2- 7 11 Dec 09 Meet Jane Doe
     21. 2- 8 11 Dec 09 A Love Supreme
     22. 2- 9 18 Dec 09 Stop-Lost
     23. 2-10 18 Dec 09 The Attic

No idea when the last 3 (11-13) are scheduled to air.

    RIP Dollhouse
UPDATE: Joss Whedon has spoken. "I feel [Dollhouse] is getting better pretty much every week," he just wrote to his fans on Whedonesque.com. "And I think you'll agree in the coming months. I'm grateful that we got to put it on, and then come back and put it on again." Joss also promised, "By the time the last episode airs, you'll know what my next project is."
    ________

Dollhouse is done. We knew this was coming—Dollhouse creator Joss Whedon recently posted on fansite Whedonesque.com that the writers were "not exactly saving all the good stuff for 14-22," but still. 'Tis sad.

Insiders confirm to us that Fox has officially closed the book on the Friday-night sci-fi series. (Series producer and Joss Whedon sister-in-law Maurissa Tancharoen, who also guest stars in an upcoming episode as an active named Kilo, tweeted confirmation as well, saying, "Yes. Cancelled. Sad but true.")

We're hearing that episode 13 serves as a season finale "in a significant way and gives Joss enough time to wrap up the stories."

The show is currently on hiatus for November sweeps (seeing as how its negligible ratings would more than likely drag down Fox's average), but is set to return beginning Dec. 4 with double-booked Fridays.

So is there any chance the series could go to another network?

Apparently not Syfy. The cabler preemptively warded off any fans hoping for a Syfy rescue attempt with this tweet, "Looks like Fox finally canceled Dollhouse. (No, I don't think we'll pick it up.)"

Episodes five though 10 will air in two-episode blocks on Dec. 4, Dec. 11 and Dec. 18, and episodes 11 through 13 will air on Fridays beginning Jan. 8, meaning that the series finale will land on Jan. 22.

Guest stars set to appear in the remaining installments include Buffy/Angel alum Alexis Denisof and Firefly alums Summer Glau and Alan Tudyk.

We'll miss Enver Gjokaj, Dichen Lachman, Fran Kranz, Tahmoh Penikett and Olivia Williams most of all.

Goodnight, crazy show that had the usual Whedony/Minearean glimmers of genius. Sleep well.

Dark Blue has been renewed for a second season, TVGuide.com has confirmed. The TNT cop drama stars Dylan McDermott as the leader of an undercover LAPD team. The show is expected to return next summer, according to the network. The Wrap is reporting that Season 2 will premiere in June.

Just last week, TNT canceled another summer procedural, Raising the Bar, which had continually outperformed Dark Blue last summer. By the end of its first season, Dark Blue hit a series-low of 1.61 million viewers. premiered to 3.5 million viewers in July but began losing a considerable amount of its lead-in from the network's heist caper.

Jemaine Clement and Bret McKenzie have announced on the Flight of the Conchords website that there will be no season three of the show. The posting said, in part: “While the characters Bret and Jemaine will no longer be around, the real Bret and Jemaine will continue to exist.’” See, these guys are hilarious even when issuing statements. So I’m sure we haven’t seen the last of these two!

I noticed some ads for Southland flashing up on the pilot for Men of a Certain Age. Are these just repeats, does anyone know or are they burning off the second series in some graveyard slot?

TNT are playing the already broadcast first 7 episodes first, then the 6 brand new ones that were made for ABC before they axed the show before the new eps. even aired.
