yes boys and girls, i saw it my own eyes yesterday in the arts block.

THERE ARE STUDENTS WEARING PAJAMAS TO COLLEGE, not in some sort of "im collecting for charity, i look silly, give me money" sort of way, more in a "ahjaysus" sort of a way.

two girls walked out of th2 in pink pj bottoms (flannel, with red hearts on it, i didnt notice the detail on the other one), hoodies and ugg boots. i was shocked, offended, or in terms people who cant differenciated between day and night wear might understand, i was scarlett for dem

i know theres a recession on, and i know being poor is part of student life, but at least when i was a student, no matter how poor or tired or hungover i was, at least i managed to wear proper clothes to college!

Pajamas are slightly better than leggings and a t shirt look. You can see EVERYTHING, put it away!

Jaysus that is bad, things are going downhill fast. I'd heft them out of my class at the sight of them.

On first arriving at the place, I was rather shocked to see the utter lack of imagination and style exhibited by much of the student body. I rather naively assumed that college somehow attracted people with a bit of unconventionality, a bit of daring about them. Now, I'm not saying there aren't such people around the place- but certainly not half as many as I'd have expected.

Maybe they have "day" pyjamas. Most of these I-just-rolled-out-of-bed looks are far more contrived than they want them to look.

Scarleh if that's true then :P

    pajamas are sleeping pants!

speaking of pants... has anyone else noticed the no-pants-man that wanders around maynooth????

    Jackass much???

    leggings=camel toe& cellulite *ew*

being a Maynooth Alumni and now working in another 3rd Level Institue where the majority of students take their appearance more seriously than I think is warranted, I miss the days of girls from campus accomodation going to early lecture's in their pj's or house coats. I think it was great to see women that were relaxed enough to come in like that, if all it was was an early lecture in the arts block, what harm.

its been proved that men find women who are dressed casually much more approachable that women done up to the nines.

Now, if its anytime in the late am or after, or they are talking in horrible howya accent's, that could be different.

in general, up with this kind of thing I say.

Short shorts guy? He's harmless, just a little odd :) A fixture of maynooth for many years. As for leggings, ban them I say. They look hot on about 1 out of 100 girls, the rest just look nasty.

in my secondary school we used to have random no-uniform days too and when some girls wore pajamas in they were told to go home... but i reckon it was just cos they were howyas

Saw an uber-fat girl the other day in Dublin wearing normal sized leggings...

MAHAAAAA!!! Oh god it was disgusting, you could see her whiteness and little bundles of tubb all over her legs...

What may look like a once off freak at their home town, in college it's seen as normal, and many just conform to the same unconformity of their fellow students.

Depends on the course. Look for arts courses, and you'll see a lot more unconventionality.

are you new or something because it's not usual for students to go around campus in their jim-jams :p lol

last year in my anthropology class, we were assigned to do something usual and comment on people's reactions... and the tame people went to lectures in their pyjamas and wrote up a report :D

but then again some students are too lazy/hungover to bother to get changed! lol all i can say is - embrace the weirdness coz it's only going to get weirder!
