    Hey there,
First time poster here. Im going to be starting the NCEF day program in UL on october the 19th and I've just got a few questions.

Firstly, whats the course itself like intensity/fitness wise? Does it improve your fitness or just provide you with the info to further your own fitness level ( and those you may be training in the future ) which you'll have to work on in your own time?

Seondly, how are the days broken up? Is it like lecture in the morning, practical in the afternoon?

Essentialy what hoping for is a fairly challenging (tough) course that'll help me take my own personal fitness training to another level ( not meaning to sound too cheesy ):D while I train to make it back onto the senior squad back home. Something to set me apart if you will

Any help would be greatly apprecaited

I can only comment on the weekend course but from what i know the day course is covered 3 days a week. Email ncefinfo@ul.ie or give them a ring. Number is on their website.

This course is fact based with a practical element but the course will not make you fit. You don't go off playing sport or anything. You are shown techniques to exercise like aerobics or circuits. This course will is not at all an exercise session! The course is to give you a qualification to work within the fitness industry. You learn about human kinetics, a little on nutrition etc. There is also a work placement element.

It is a starting point if you wish to work in fitness.

When i did the course we did fairly intense sessions with the circuit training, and the fitness testing. We did alot of classes and you are required to participate in classes in differing gyms to see how they are taught.

The first semester will be much less practical than the second one tho.
