I can send fine to vodafone.
Anyone else having this problem and know why? Or how to fix?

You're the only person I know who's on 3! And Sadly, you're not enough to make it a reputable network, in my eyes :P

    just called them
they told me to go to the three store and get them to look at it
    useless
only good thing about that phone call is that they played 3 is the magic number when they put me on hold

Both are inferior to Meteor. That's the real problem

3 slept with o2s sister and never called her back so they aren't speaking any more

I thought this was common knowledge? If you have are on the 3 network you can't text anyone on the 02 network.

Google stuff like "cannot text o2 from 3" without quotes for more info.

    I moved to 3 today.

Mostly for data usage. I don't like anyone enough to be bothered texting them.

Did you by any chance port your number over to 3 recently?

I'm with 3 and can send messages to everyone trouble free bar one person. Can't remember what network he's on but sometimes it just refuses to send a text to him.

Am having same issue here in Bandon as well, can't send or receive texts with 3 as of yesterday evening!
Wife will call India when she is back from shopping :-)

As for the reason we have 3 is it so the wife can skype with her family in the US! Honest!

You keep telling yourself that and we'll keep believing it. :p

Is this issue location specific or does it appear to be happening everywhere?

Same happening with me and the wife too. She's 02 and i'm 3,only got a message she sent yesterday morning just now. Never happened before,i'd imagine it's only a temporary glitch. I'm in Dublin.

I am on three and I did not get some texts. Others were taking hours to send and I am sure other were taking hours to get to me..

The problem is due to an transmission failure on O2's side. BT is looking into it and it should be fully sorted soon.

ha, I knew it was an o2 fault, they really are gone to pot......i'd expect a lot more of this sort of thing from those bubble heads as they continue to overload their 1930's cup and rope of a network.....:pac:

Have read the posts I thought I'd chime in and post what I know about this.

While Vodafone, Meteor, and O2 all have SMS interoperability contracts in place. 3 does not have one with O2

3 also does not send text messages to 80% of the German population,
as it only has an agreement with com+ or some such mobile operator.

It means I can't text my brother in Berlin, so I end up paying for expensive voice calls.

Are you sure you don't mean 3 and tesco, there's a dispute there alright but it's dosen't effect the relationship with o2 as far as i'm aware, in theroy and usually in pratice there's no problem with o2 and 3 but o2 are having problems latley, hearing a lot about fuzzy lines (data interferance), text problems, internet problems etc. 3 customer shouldn't really be concerned as their network is not at fault but people on o2 should.

I guess you're right, there are an awful lot few problems when you check Google.

Just a quick question though, did you happen to ask your "auld pal" how many problems 3 mobile have? Of course you didn't, so why don't you let me enlighten you.

You obviously dont know too much. This thread is about O2 Ireland and 3 Ireland and nothing else. The problem with the text was on O2's side and has been fixed. Apart from this issue there is no problem sending text's between O2 Irl and 3 Irl.

I have been having this problem with o2 the last 2 months since I came back in the country. they are still 'investigating' it... Most of my family are on the 3 network and none of their texts get through to me but they can text others on the o2 network no problem. IT is really frustrating.
