Just wondering what everyone opinion is when it comes to using supplements post weight lifting.

I just started a lifting program a few months ago and I've been hearing a lot about protein shakes etc. I'm currently averaging about 2 full body sessions a week (occasionally 3) however I'm finding my limiting factor is nearly always my grip. I took a break for a week and was able to lift for longer before my grip failed so I'm wondering if perhaps my forearm muscles are not getting enough time to rest during my 2 a week schedule?

Would something like http://www.lucozade.com/sport/products/strength/all-in-one-powder-sachet/ help with recovery/strength increases or is just that grip develops a lot slower than the rest of your muscles and you just have to keep at it?

Personally, I use a 40g scoop of microfiltered whey within 15 - 30 mins after every workout - same in the morning. Worked for me, ive made great gains in the past couple of months.

    Some other beneficial supps:

Cod Liver Oil or Omega 3 capsules.
    Glucosamine Sulphate - for joints.
    A good multi-vitamin.
    A nice balanced diet!

The first ingredient is sugar, so I'd give it a miss. Whey protein after lifting has such a good track record that few people even consider it a supplement any more. Get some whey with at least 80% protein and add your own carbs if you want.

There's a supplements sticky at the top of the forum so I'm gonna close this thread. If you want to start a separate thread about grip strength, fire ahead.
